will older star wars games work on vista?

im thinking of buying the X wing tie fighter and rebel assault 2 games for odler PCs for my current PC.

will they work on my system and do i need patches

To be honest, I've never tried running those games on a modern system, at all, but I'm fairly certain you'll be able to get 'em up and running perfectly fine in DOSbox.
