as someone once said, Dino Crisis is like the uglier looking Resident Evil with faster load times and quicker but even dumber zombies.

They are actually quite helpful, especially for rooms you only visit once. They let you conserve your ammo for areas which you will visit many times. They are also great for making poison darts, which will kill those angry foor-legged dinos near the end in ONE hit (best "ammo" in the game).Originally posted by REmaster View PostYea, you get these worthless tranq darts. Oh good, I can postpone my death
I love it though...classic bliss.

I could never MAKE Poison Darts. Only find them. Hmm.
I thought Dino Crisis looked nicer than Resi Evil.Originally posted by A-Jas someone once said, Dino Crisis is like the uglier looking Resident Evil with faster load times and quicker but even dumber zombies.Last edited by Helegad; 04-20-2009, 08:41 AM.

You have to mix the an. dart L with an item which is not very obvious. When you choose the darts in the mixing menu, you can see which other items in your inventory they are compatible with, so just try.
If not:

An. dart L + resusciation (or do they have to be L++?)Last edited by Anders; 04-20-2009, 10:27 AM.

Most people I know never cared for DC2 because it was different. You and I must be the only people who loved it just the same if not more than the first.Originally posted by Helegad View PostWell, I'm starting on Dino Crisis 2 again, and I reckon it's better than the first. More fun and engaging, and there's definitely no ammo shortage this time around

I like both of them. The first one was pretty much a survival horror (or Panic Horror >_>) and that had it's own personal merits. The game was definitely one of the most tense experiences I've had.
On the other hand, Dino Crisis 2 is probably much more memorable for me. The underwater battle with the Diplodocus (?) was one of the most awesome battles I've ever had in a video game, and I had this feeling of terror and dread for some reason. Similarly, I remember running across the docks shooting at Pterodactyls with dual SMGs and racking up a HUGE combo.
Lord I love this game, please Capcom, make a new one! Give your other franchises a rest. =( (And pretend DC3 never happened)

Oh, how I love these games. I still have them, but they won't play. If there was ever any advice I could give a younger me, it'd be "Take care of your damn games, you may want to play them later in life!".
What I do find sort of funny is that Dino Crisis did in one game which Resident Evil took to do in....many more: it went from Survival to Action. But I do love Dino Crisis 2
The underwater section used to scare the life out of me.

Dino Crisis is still one of my top 10 favorite games. I have so many good memories with the first game, I remember sitting in my room in the dark playing it and getting the shit scared out of me when a raptor would burst through the door or one of the many t-rex encounters. So awesome.
Dino Crisis 2 I also loved, and the ability to play as the dinos in an unlockable mini game was so awesome, wish they would do something like that with RE.

Oh, yeah, it was awesome. The mode was called Dino Colosseum. You chose a character (or dinosaur) and went through basically a survival test as you fought other dinosaurs. You could also play as characters from the original game such as Rick and Gail.Originally posted by REmaster View PostWhat?! I never knew of such a mini game lol

I think I might give the poison darts a miss.

I was just thinking something earlier when I was playing it...now would be the perfect time to remake it since it's 2009, which is when Dino Crisis is set lol. Man, how time goes by..."One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."

You don't really need all the resuscs you find, as there are planty of opportunities to save. I make poison darts of almost all of them. (Though they are nice to have if you are going for the third ending [save everybody], the T-Rex is fiendish in that "fight", and you can't save right before it - you WILL die many times, and the resuscs save you some time.) (Tip: Don't mix 2 resuscs with 3 darts at the same time... you will still only get one poison dart. If you're going for poison darts, be careful with the "sort" option.)Originally posted by Helegad View PostA resuscitation?! But those things are so rare, and take so many medipacks to create

Then again, nor do you really NEED all those poison darts, there's PLENTY of grenade ammo. But I love seeing those bastard four legged dinos die after one single shot. Trust me, it's satisfying.
I'm replaying the game as we speak, going for that third ending because I realized it's probably ten years since I got that. At the end of the game I was screaming for it to throw more dinos at me. I have over 40 grenade/heat bullets, and unlimited slag bullets. I disagree a bit with the ammo scarcity; for a bried period early on you have very little, but it soon picks up. And once you start finding slag bullets, there's more ammo than you need.
