Golden Sun DS/Golden Sun series

I'm really, really excited for this game. I loved the first two; probably my favorite portable RPG series and one of my favorites overall. So, what has anyone heard on the rumor train? I've heard two things.

1. The story will mainly be about Alex after GS2, with Alchemy unleashed and he's trying to harness it
2. The main characters, or maybe just some of them, will be descendants of the original cast.

Now I personally thought the first one myself as well, but I'm not sure about the second one...

I've never actually played these, but I spoke to Gareth about it yesterday. I'm actually quite looking forward to it because I love my handheld RPGs. At the minute, I'm really into Chrono Trigger, FFIII, FFIV and Pokemon Platinum.

Has anyone played Golden Sun before (any previous installments in the series)? Is it a good game? This is definitely something I'll be looking into picking up.

I found the first one to be pretty boring. Nice graphics, decent music, but it just never picked up in my opinion.

I have, obviously. In all actuality, they're pretty cut-and-dry "save the world" stories. But the way it's presented is just incredible.

There are two previous games: Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Don't want to spoil anything, so I'll be as careful as I can. As A-J said, The Lost Age is really long but still very enjoyable, though I do prefer the first more. The battle system sells this game, alongside the beautiful visuals and the extremely varied and great soundtrack. And there are a few twists and turns in the story you may or may not expect when you play through... :O

Before I go into paragraphs of how great the game is, I'll just keep it short. Both entries in the series are top-notch RPG experiences, and I highly recommend them.

And as I said before, I can't wait for GS: DS.

3 or 4 minutes of gameplay footage (the person repeats it so it's about 7 minutes). Are the main character's cel-shaded? This game is beautiful...
When I saw Atalina and Ramses in 3D, I was sold. XD Apparently, there's a new summon too, then I saw Eclipse.

So... wow. Sorry for the double-post. This thread died, but seeing as how the game is released tomorrow, I feel there's reason to revive the thread.

So is anyone else excited for this game? I mean... I feel alone here. I've been freaking out all day. I mean... it's been seven years since The Lost Age, and it's one of my favorite RPGs. I'm hyped as hell. XP

School's gonna suck tomorrow, I won't be able to focus. XD Driving to GameStop right afterward though... All the new info I've heard is really interesting, and that's without spoiling anything at all (thank goodness). I still wanna know who the parents of the green-haired girl are...

I loved the first Golden Sun. Unfortunately, I never was able to get the second. I look forward to it and the new release. I heard that the descendant is of Isaac (The main character from the first).

Yeah, his name is Matthew. I think I'm about halfway through, and damn... this game is awesome, but the first half was pretty linear. And be warned: there are points of no return. I suggest scouring the world for Djinn and summon tablets before moving on, or use a GameFAQs guide or something. You can permanently miss stuff. D:
