Yeah I 100% agree. The first time I played GOW 1 & 2 was in december and I fell in love with it. I knew I was missing out when I first seen it years ago but now I just cant fucking wait to get my hands on GOW3.

maybe because people have other choices? not everyone wants the same game you know.Originally posted by ChrisRedfield29 View PostI'm actually quite disturbed by this board's lack of anticipation for this game. There is indeed an edit function. Please use it rather than double posting. Especially when you're posting three minutes apart.
...because I'm pretty sure it won't be my game of the millennium? Mass Effect 2 and Heavy Rain were both games I would stolen a hobo's kidneys to get hold of earlier, while I never managed to finish the first God of War. It just wasn't for me. Violence doesn't especially entertain me, I'm not too fond of action games, and the story was...interesting, but it felt like they were trying to do a more grown up version of the Hercules legend more than anything else, and just didn't grab me.Originally posted by ChrisRedfield29 View PostI'm actually quite disturbed by this board's lack of anticipation for this game. Shame it wasn't your cup of tea. Out of interest, when did you stop playing?Originally posted by Darkmoon View PostThere is indeed an edit function. Please use it rather than double posting. Especially when you're posting three minutes apart.

That saddens me. I didn't think much of GoW1 when I first saw my friend play it, but I rented it a few months later and enjoyed the hell out of it. If action games aren't for you, then I don't know what to say...I just feel like Action/Hack-N-Slash is one of the easiest 'pick up and play' genres there is, and to me, God of War is the pinnacle of the genre. I'd say you should really give the first two another chance, but if it's not for you, then whatever, dogg.Originally posted by Darkmoon View Post...because I'm pretty sure it won't be my game of the millennium? That's great, man. That's awesome. Good for you. Quick question, though...do you plan on doing anything other than trolling this thread and then when someone calls you out on it, saying "BUT BUT BUT IT'S MY OPINION"?Originally posted by Branden_Lucero View Postpinnacle? no, not even close. old hack n' slashers are more enjoyable to me, hell Diablo is more enjoyable.

Didn't think so.
When I made this post, I was more concerned with the fact that this is a humongous release in 2010 and is going to be one of the biggest games on the PS3, yet this thread has received barely any attention from anyone but me other than some spam and some trolling. I wonder out loud if most of the board doesn't own a PS3 or they simply haven't played the first two? The latter confuses me since the original two games were two of the highest-acclaimed games on the most successful console of last generation.Originally posted by ChrisRedfield29 View PostI'm actually quite disturbed by this board's lack of anticipation for this game. oooh, look at you following me around again.Originally posted by Stu View PostOoooh look at you with your new Diablo avatar and your new Diablo signature
Flavour of the week much?
anyways, for one thing, to me its not about the hack n slash when it came to god of war, it was about the concept and the design. greek mythology is something i honestly don't care for because i learned it everywhere it was thrown at me in my school years. but when someone decides to bring up the devil or even demons, then its not worth talkin' about in school because it can be considered offensive, yet i find it more interesting. that's reason why i even bothered to like DMC, was for its concept and theme, but then down the road CAPCOM screwed it up and turned it into a regular hack n' slash with nothin' behind it, when it originally did from the first entry.
at first i didn't want Dante's Inferno, but then i changed my mind. i thought it was going to fail at telling it closely how it was originally represented, but after watchin' dev dairies and doing research, i found that the game was doing a better job at layering the concept more than what CAPCOM ever could for DMC. yes, you can consider the divine comedy a piece of greek mythology, and yes, the game is probably not accurate, but it was written by someone to tell it as a deep fictional concept instead of something real. and because the concept isn't real, i find it more interesting because of the "what if it was?" kind of question.
if you like god of war, go for it. but its not something i was ever interested in. i've watched my friend play it, and he likes a lot of the hack n slash games both old and new, but i've always enjoyed more old ones.Last edited by Branden_Lucero; 02-27-2010, 08:01 PM.
