      Maybe in your world.

MK and SF/MVC have major gameplay/strategy differences and shouldn't be compared to each other. Ever.

Personal opinions are personal - some people think Valyria Chronicles is a bad game, for example. I think these people are clearly insanse, and should be launched into space for the protection all the right thinking people, but that's just me.

More than likely the next game will be a combination of MK4 and MKDA/Deception.

Characters I think will be in the next game:

They're both 2D fighting games with 3D graphics. The major differences in fighting mechanics should be compared with one another. MK still uses the stupid cliche of teleporting characters and MvC3 has tighter controls and hit detection.

You saying that you can't compare the two games because of gameplay differences is the same as saying that you can't compare Call of Duty to Bad Company 2; because one promotes camping and the latter promotes an aggressive play style.
Camping is boring, frustrating and makes for an overall bad shooter experience, therefor the game is terrible as a result. Teleporting is the fighting game equivalent of camping. So yes, the gameplay of the two games is comparable, they're in the same genre. What's not comparable is the unique features of each game. I'm not going to dislike Mortal Combat because you play as a single character and not a team of 3. The fighting mechanics are a different story.

            • Look while I agree that Mortal Kombat is not a truly technical fighter and is geared towards the casual let's not turn this into ANOTHER SF vs MK argument I believe that was already done like a month and a half ago

Let's keep this MK discussion only

Valkyria Chronicles is such an underrated game. Should have sold much more.

I love how, in your world of BFBC2, no one camps and everyone plays together and holds hands and shits rainbows and unicorns. I guess that's true if you ignore the fact that Bushwookies sit on the outskirts of the maps, completely ignoring objectives and trying to rack up a killcount that is pointless in the overall scale of the game. And no one camps the spawn of helicopters, shoots their own teammates out of the sky, or any of the other stupid shit that turned me off of that game in about a month.

The point is, there are people who ruin the experience of EVERY game. Every game has campers, that's a fact. MW2 just promoted camping more with stacking killstreaks...Black Ops took that away and the game was better because of it.

For a while, I jumped back and forth between MW2 and BFBC2 and found it to be completely refreshing. CoD is fast-paced and close quarters and BC2 was team-oriented and on a larger scale...both games were fun in their own right. I hate people(fanboys) who have to shit on one series. If you don't like it, that's great.

This is a thread about Mortal Kombat and you're turning it into a franchise war. Go talk about MvC3 in that thread if you love it so much.

                  • To bring this back on topic

Mastering a character is so annoying I can easily do majority of the requirements but recording 24 hours of play time with one character? That's gonna take forever to do it with all characters

What fools do in the game is their own decision. Bad Company 2 makes camping an ineffective strategy that gets you absolutely nowhere. You camp in a building, I'll blow away the wall you're hugging and you along with it. These "bushwookies", as you call them, have the lowest K/D ratios on the entire team because they camp. They're not being rewarded with killstreaks or experience for sitting in one place for the duration of the entire match. There will always be people that don't help the team in any game. The difference is, CoD promotes that kind of playstyle and BFBC2 rewards you with the lowest K/D in the match because you choose to camp. Also, you can't shoot down your own team's helicopter as FF is off unless you're playing the terrible Hardcore Mode.

How can you claim that a game with a perk that makes you invisible to radar doesn't promote camping? From what you've stated, it sounds as if you haven't played BFBC2 in almost a year.

I only referenced BFBC2 and CoD in relation to judging games of a similar genre. You're the one who rushed in to defend CoD like it was your own child.

To that end, I believe teleporting characters in fighting games are cheap, it is no more evident than in the final boss battles in almost all fighting games. It is such an unnecessary cliche. I also believe that putting characters in a 10 second cut scene in MK is redundant. I thought I was playing as Liu Kang and not Hideo Kojima. Whereas, I don't mind starring at a close up of a character for 1 second to give me a heads up to try and avoid a special attack in MvC3.

I have to agree with him.

Mortal Komabt may have a lot more content and a good story mode but....

Marvel vs Capcom 3 gameplay is way WAY better and more enjoyable to me.

                        Mortal Kombat is just....just slow..

                          This.

It's only a few threads down, go discuss your MK hate and bragging there.

I don't hate it. I'm simply discussing the game's faults. Just because it's an MK thread, doesn't mean everyone has to be acknowledging that it's some absurd a gift from god. I'm providing criticism, which is based on what other games in the same genre are doing. I'm discussing mechanics that are specific to MK's gameplay.

I don't know about you, but I find Mortal Kombat's timing on combos
                              unforgivingly fast.

                              • TR, there are a few teleporting characters in MvC3.

e.g. Wesker, Phoenix, Deadpool and I think Dante can do it too.
