I don't know, had it not been for the media at the time spoiling the Heather=Cheryl thing, I don't think I would have known straight away, if not until at least the end of the shopping mall.
And DXP, you really should play Silent Hill 1. The style and atmosphere of that game are still unrivaled within the Silent Hill universe. The sheer amount of depth and symbolism from the monsters, to the puzzles to the weapons is fantastic, even more so considering it was released in 1999, when the only other game with good depth was Metal Gear.
Ironically enough, after Metal Gear Solid, the localizer moved to the Silent Hill series, perhaps why the dialog and, in the case of the 3rd game, the voice acting in particular, where fantastic, compared to the Metal Gear series which has been given incresingly dissapointing translations since Metal Gear Solid (In particular, the end of Metal Gear Solid 2, a large amount of dialog and voice acting in Metal Gear Solid 3).

yea i had an avatar of that where he's sitting in the chair, when i realized what he did i hated him but i wanted to see what happens at the end. also someone mentioned that lisa mutation part, i felt sorry for her
she didn't deserve it. my favorite part in silent hill 1 was when kauffman came out all angry because we got his drugs

Well, that's part of the reason I love it. I went into the game with the preconception that this would be a horror game with alot of Silent Hill references, and that's what I got. I can understand why many people disliked the game or didn't believe it was anywhere close to the other games, and really, that's Konami's fault for forcing the team to make it a Silent Hill title.Originally posted by A-J View Postreally, all of it ? i for one thought it was the most lackluster game in the series, obviously because it wasnt meant to be a silent hill game to start with.
However you can tell the team was under strain, I mean, they completed Silent Hill, it was a huge success, and they were given enough time to create Silent Hill 2. However, due to it being a bigger success, they were made create Silent Hill 3 right after 2, with 3 suffering for it, and then when they tried to create something fresh and new, AKA Room 302, Konami made them throw more Silent Hill references in and tack on the Silent Hill name.
If anything, the reason we have not seen anything from Team Silent since 2004 is probably because they were worked to the bone from around 2000 through to 2004. And with, what I imagine, mass dissapointment with the Silent Hill film, only three members of the team are still visable, Yamaoka (who is taking alot of credit for the creation of the series), Ito and Owaku who are currently writing digital graphic novels for Japanese cell phones within the Silent Hill universe.
So yes, Silent Hill 4, great success!
Also, another favourite moment, Silent Hill 2, when James realises everything in the hotel room after watching the tape.

I liked The Good+ ending in Silent Hill 1. Also the scene of Lisa Mutating.
In Silent Hill 2, I liked the apartment scenes.
in Silent Hill 3, the scene when she gets back home
To this day, I still havn't beaten Silent Hill 4, but I liked the seens looking at Eileen.
Now the hate, I hate any scene dealing with sewers. There in all games and I hate them.Last edited by chrism3784; 07-30-2007, 12:13 AM.

Actually, I think that was Frank sweeping... I liked watching Eileen more though... Especially as it got closer to her scenario...

Silent Hill 1 beginning, the music is fantastic, and when you reach the alley, the camera work is amazing, one of the most memorable moments in gaming for me.
Also, Silent Hill 4.
All of it.

sorry, For some reason when I read an earlier post I read "victor" instead of "vincent" and It stuck in my head

vincent not victor
i think there was a reference to that in silent hill 2 as well. the protagonist (heather, james, harry, henry) always sees the world fucked up or in nightmare mode. that's their own world, the real world could be going by but they're stuck in that kind of limbo
