    SHO hit scheduling problems that made Konami miss their original target release date by nearly a year. Climax's management didn't dedicate enough people to work on the project initially, and set unrealistic deadlines resulting in quite a bit of delay that Konami was told off quite late. Consequently, the project was moved from the US offices to their UK headquarters.

    If you compare the earliest SHO footage to the final game, they're completely different. The original version was more RE4-esque, while the final ended up being more traditional.
    Yeah, I know you mean the in-house engine. But we are talking about a current generation title. It's a freakin door knob... I'm sure the engine could've dealt with like... 1000 more polygons on screen, at most. That's nothing.

    So wait... The changes that were made to SHO were the result of them relocating it to the UK? That's a good thing, then. I mean, if it had that RE4 gameplay, and those Doom-like monsters, I would NOT have bought it, or if I had, I would've probably hated it.

      I liked the movie and thought it was probably one of the best movies based on a video game. I know that most video game movies are horrible but felt the story made sense and they didn't change that much to make it totally different from the game. Obvious the movie won't be the same and have to made casual movie goers happy. I know my Dad liked the movie and he never played that game. I am still confused on what happened at the end of the first game can anyone tell me?

        I think it's up to interpretation. I felt that was the point of it. I mean, they obviously can't make 5 endings. So instead they make one ambiguous one that can be interpreted by different people the way they want. Or what makes the most sense to them.

          It has to be worth playing, at least. Right? I mean... I don't own any Silent Hill games, I just rent them. So long as I get to bash a few nurses with a pipe, I'll be content.

            Like I said, it had the second best storyline out of all Silent Hill games. And that's what redeems it above anything else.

              Yeah... So far, the only game I've not been impressed with story-wise was Origins and it wasn't THAT bad... It was mostly the gameplay that annoyed me.

              I liked the movie. Parts of it made me raise an eyebrow, I admit, but it really did try hard and sometimes it worked.

                I liked Origins' gameplay. The combat system was fluid without being too different from the originals. The breakable weapons system was a bit over the line, but it didn't bother me too much. The story wasn't the best, but overall it was good. Although I have to admit, after RE4 and UC, when it comes to my OTHER favorite series, the only plot requirement I have is that it doesn't completely butcher the overall storyline.
                But still, I thought that Origins was an awesome Silent Hill game, the scares were there, the graphics were there (on the PSP, anyway), the endings, it felt like a Silent Hill game. And best of all, it's a Silent Hill game I can take on the road, and... Say, play it on the bus at night when I'm traveling to another city.

                  I disagree. The story is fairly unimaginative for a Silent Hill game, and the 'shocking' twist really felt cheap. The story is basically a mix of SH2 and SH1 and a heavy bit borrowed from Jacob's Ladder. It's the third best storyline when you don't consider the five horrifically done 'endings'.

                  But hey, that's just my opinion. >_>;

                    Well then... If that's your opinion, what are the first two best storylines?

                        Two words: another dimension, almost above ours. I don't like that idea, but it mst be something along that, the thing is: they wanted to give Silent Hill a simple explanation but Silent Hill can't be explained... never will that happen

                                Guess your Homecomming wasnt that great huh lol I made a pun FUNNY! say it lol.

                                I never played Homecoming my friend did and I watched him, I have only played Silent Hill: Restless Dreams.

                                In regards to the 1st movie, I hope Silent Hill two the film follows the 2nd game... mainly cause I will have a better grasp on what the hell is going on.. and maybe Red Pyramid will have a bigger role as well ...-shruggs- just didnt make sense continuity wise why he was there so maybe the 2nd will be about him and of course our main character.
