I'd probably say after 4 myself, just because I found it to be quite a disturbing game, though it certainly did feel different from the rest of them.

The one thing that I want to see in Silent Hill 6 is in the title sequence, "Team Silent presents........"

Then I know that it'll be good. Else Konami should just leave Silent Hill in limbo till some one magically has a decent idea for a sequel.

Order of my preferences Goes 2, 1, 3 (closely to 1), Origins (I just enjoyed it more and played it more than 4, maybe it reminded me a lot of 1 ), 4, then 5.

true, after the original team left the series hasnt been the same, it seemed more like they were trying hard to make a Silent Hill type game, but not an actual SH game itself.

If I'm honest I don't think new people should work on Silent Hill. This is simply because they seem to get stuck on what has gone before and worked rather than trying to push new ground, for example 1 was about finding your adopted daughter where as 2 was about your dead wife (as well as many different things involving that), 3 was kind of the reverse of 1 and 4 was just different to all 3. Origins is too much 1 and 2 bundled together and 5 is just elements of the first 3 + the movie. it feels that Climax and Double Helix have not tried to move the story/elements on.

If anybody new is to work on Silent Hill, I'd at least like it to be people who have worked on games like Forbidden Siren or Fatal Frame and I'd definitely like for them to be able to at least discuss their plans and progress with a few of the orginal key development staff, as it is unlikely all of them will decide to return to the series.

I seem to recall some of the people who worked on the Siren games also worked on the early Silent Hill ones, but that might be my mind playing tricks on me.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised. But if it was on the earlier ones, it might a good thing if they decided to help out on the next one... Provided their standards haven't slipped XD Has anybody played the most recent Siren game? If so, what's your opinion?

One of the better horror games of the last few years, but it's actually inferior, in my opinion, to the origional on which it was based. It's easier and, I found, less terrifying, and the story has been dumbed down a fair bit. Of course before it was so hard it would make a rock cry and the story was enough to melt a lesser man's mind, but that was how I liked it.

Sooo, more like good dumb fun? XD I guess that's not so bad, considering... Not something I'd like applied to Silent Hill. The only time that should come in is when you finish the game and unlock stuff like the Princess Heart costume and the Beam Sabre.

Well, I should qualify this statement by pointing out it's dumbed down compared to the original, and many of the characters are integrated into one. The story is a fair bit different and a lot simpler to follow, I found. The original made Silent Hill seem pretty easy to understand. This one just gives you a mild headache while you follow the links.
