The Aliens in Aliens (1986 film) had heads with the ridges all along. There are a few other design changes as well, such as the number of fingers. I forget the rest, but the alien in the first film (1979) is different to the aliens seen in the second. I'm not sure how this is justified in the series. I'm not a huge expert. I looks like they based the AVP2 alien's design off the film Aliens.

I liked AVP 2 much much much more than AVP 1, mostly because I remember the first one took itself a bit too seriously, and didn't have enough monsters smashing skulls in for my liking.

I have a few questions about this movie, the Alien Predator mix was a great monster and all but the movie didnt have the same feel as the first one did, all it was people running around getting killed everywhere, but i admit it was a good movie, but not what it could have been, because first off they didnt show the AP mix enough, and when they did there wasnt much to look at, it was always a closeup and you really didnt get to see what he looked like... now what my other question is why the basic aliens look way different than what they normally would look like

anyone besides me noticing the differences? becuase i didtn like the way they changed the alien, their supposed to have a smooth top, the one in AVPR has ridges where the scalp would be, but anyways

i have nothing against the movie i thought it was great but the camera angles for fights wherent great at all, and it took away from my personal opinion ratings, we didnt get to see all that much fighting, but when we did it wasnt really nothing to go OOOHH all about, you would think that when predator elder guy was fighting the AP mix they would have showed the creature alo more, i was really dissapointed in the way they didnt show him, i really dont even know what it looks like unless i look at the cover

but i think there could be a reason why all the aliens have that ridge on their back though, maybe is was the fact that the AP was doing that makeout thing with all the preggars in the movie but idk, that could of had the effect on the way they looked but idk, i thought it was a really bad flaw

but anyways anyone else have any opinion on the movie?
