Yeah. From those opening monologues where he fires off every single insipid generational buzzword to his discussions on language and everyday stuff. I really love the "ways to keep people on their toes" in his What am I Doing in New Jersey? performance. Incredible perspectives and ideas, and this is just after he slams the entire Reagan administration.

Now, I'm going to put a portion of one of Kevin Smith's public speaking performances here, and while he obviously isn't a stand-up, his delivery is impeccable. As Rosetta Mist said, half of these "comedians" can't compare to the legends, and I don't even think they could compare to Kevin Smith.

yes Carlin was very smart so he knew what he was talking about which made him great.i seen this one comedian on comedy central and this guy didnt no jack shit about what he was talking about most of the time.
