So, anyone around here tweet much? I've recently been picking up my tweetage. Right now, my followers are mostly just spam accounts because none of my real-life friends tweet whatsoever(they think it's gay, for geeks, etc, but I don't give a crap), so I'm tweeting to no one in particular, but I'm doing it anyway. I use the site mostly to follow what athletes and musicians have to say, and that's where most of its appeal is to me -- seeing what my favorite sports stars are up to.

This thread could be used to gain followers, share funny tweets, talk about trending topics, whatever.

I'll start by talking about my favorite tweeters -- one being Nick Swisher. He's an outfielder for the Yankees. He doesn't tweet much but when he does, it's straight and to the point, usually about the last game they played. This guy is a character and I love him. He's new to the team this year and he's a free spirit in a clubhouse full of mopes. That's why I like him. www.twitter.com/NickSwisher

My next favorite tweeter is clearly my dream girl, my woman, the love of my life -- Hayley Williams. Lead singer of Paramore, most beautiful human being on the planet, absolute sweetheart and an avid tweeter. Probably my favorite person in the world. I suggest you follow her. www.twitter.com/yelyahwilliams

EDIT: You know, I was just thinking -- THIA could be on Twitter, too. Maybe Dot or someone could create a profile, and tweet when news updates, features and articles are added to the site? Twitter is pretty much the hottest form of advertising these days.

Twitter the latest social networking bandwagon for simpletons.
If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

It can't be worse then MySpace.

Yeah, I don't have a twitter. I find no reason to use it, really.

Surely your life can't be that empty that you need reassurance from people knowing about your every move it's bordering on voyeurism, it's a pedophiles paradise.

I recently got an account to follow others, but I don't post anything myself. It's not really that entertaining for me. What amazes me is how long Twitter has been around and how the mainstream is JUST becoming aware of it. Srsly. My friend introduced it to me years ago, and every time I hear about it now, I just sort of shake my head, baffled. Slow people are slow.

It's very amusing to receive tweets from "Claire" and "Leon" from the DSC accounts. I felt special.

You're so wrong it's not even funny. At first, I thought Twitter was bullshit too. But then I realized I could follow my favorite athletes and musicians and see what they have to say, and I became interested. At first, I didn't tweet at all. Gradually over the last few days, if I have a thought, I'll just type it or text it on to Twitter. It's almost like a journal of some sorts.

The majority of the accounts that are following me are spam accounts, anyway. None of my real-life friends do this. I'm not trying to let people know what I'm doing at all times, I just do it for the sake of doing something. It's really not as serious as your post made it out to be.

If people are just gonna be hating on the topic, then it should be locked and deleted. I created this to see who used the website and what their thoughts on it were. I honestly wasn't expecting kevstah to come in here and start throwing out insults and judgments. If people are gonna do this, then screw it.

Play nice minions. Kevstah especially. You know full fucking well people would consider your life pointless and empty for going on the internet and talking to people who aren't really there or are fat old men pretending to be girls or some such. That means that not everyone who uses Twitter is as you described.

I'm starting to think we're gonna need another crackdown on this shit soon.

I'm on Twitter myself as Mr. Marzipan and I know a few others on here who are as well.

I wasn't a big fan of it before I started using it and it's just addictive.

I've had a MySpace, Bebo, Facebook, Twitter and something called a Sonnet my time on the net. I hate all of them with a passion and find facebook only useful for keeping in touch with people I like but wouldn't exactly lend my Petinson denim boots to.

Twitter is exactly what the first part of the name implies.

Absolutely no offense if you do… Tweet… But I have issues with the people that it seems to be aimed at; those who seem to think anybody out there really cares what they are doing. I’m sure that’s not why all of you use it, but I? I am sticking to my DA journals.

                          Petinson denim boots? *confused*

Had a myspace, facebook and livejournal at one point, thankfully removed them all now.
Complete waste of time for me really, anyone I want to talk to is on my phone list or MSN/AIM.
                          Thats about it really.

For people who actually like to branch out, network and socialise I can completely understand the rationale behind having all those accounts, for me, not so much.

Some people *like me* just don't want to be found by people you knew 10-15+ years ago etc.

stalker, stalker's paradise. Personally, I like using the phone, email or AIM just fine. On the other end, I enjoy being a voyeur, reading random blogs or looking at pics of people I don't know. I never follow anybody for long or get involved however.

                              No, not migration.

I find "trapped in a room with Plant 42 armed with only a survival knife" much more appropriate.
