Zach Snyder cast Jamie Chung and Vanessa Hudgins in his weird 'Sucker punch' film, that alone tells me this does not bode well.

I'd really like to think Zack Snyder knows better than to cast Kristen Stewart. Anyone who's seen any of her movies has to know how awful of an actress she is. All she can do is blink her eyes really fast and look around to random spots when feeling awkward/threatened/nervous/any emotion at all. Olivia Wilde is amazing, though. I could go for that.

...Hell no. Hell no to Jessica Biel as well.

Olivia Wilde could be fun though.

Fair enough, but it's just a style preference I guess. And it's based on the scene. I didn't mind how in Returns it shows Superman floating in the sky in slow-mo with his cape waving at a pace only to speed straight down to stop a bank robbery.

As far as Snyder using them in action sequences I thought it worked well in 300 and Watchmen. But that's just my opinion. You expect some sort of style from your directors. I always expect Tarantino to make a drawn out scene in one shot following a central character as he usually does.

I don't believe it would be out of character to show Superman in such "Snyder scenes" because, let's face it, if they're part of the action then the fight sequences that we have seen in the past films (which aren't that much) have been pretty tame so far behind the camera (although there were some interesting additional footage in the Donner Cut of Superman 2).

I'm pretty sure this will be more action packed for better or worse based on the feedback for Superman Returns.

But last I heard the title was rumored to be "Superman: The Man of Steel" which was a working title back when Singer was still in talks to direct a follow-up to Returns. Before they opted for a reboot of course.
I don't disagree with you about Nolan (although I will state he got far better with the action sequences in TDK over Begins). But you still can't argue much for Snyder when you watch the alleyway brawl in Watchmen for example; which unlike the well done opening scene with The Comedian, did not have the high-speed camera work (or at least very little of it as I recall, someone please correct me if I've remembered incorrectly).

Somehow that fight made watching paint dry look more exciting than watching Nite Owl and Silk Spectre break bones, I honestly found it one of cinemas most boring fight scenes ever. Snyder apparently needs that high-speed stuff to be at his most creative - fair enough; as the opening of Watchmen, 300 and the trailer for Sucker Punch show, but yet I clearly feel Superman doesn't need that. So it's a lose-lose to me. At the end of the day I'd rather have a quick cut, close angle, fight scene if it's more true to the character than a flashy wide slow motion shot if it makes no sense for the character.

At the end of the day though I somehow have more hope for this than the Spiderman reboot... mostly because of Snyder's track record... but only a little.

Don't worry, Snake Plissken will always remain an American hero. Er, anti-hero.

I'm still not that keen on this Reboot either. I saw rumors are continuing to circulate that this will indeed go down "The Dark Knight" route and likely be named "The Man Of Steel" or somesuch too. Bleh.

Hail to your new England overlords.

It's crazy to think on how many British actors are currently playing the most iconic superhero characters out there. Henry Cavil is a great actor in the Tudors, mind you. I can see him doing a great superman.
