Its rumored that around 60-80% through the sewers had a MAJOR overhaul but who knows what was changed other then thw all colors which I feel are worse and they obviously realized this to since in the final build of RE2 the sewers went back to the greenish walls

The colour scheme represents a very minor change when compared to the major changes in the Sewer Chapter's actual layout. We have sufficiently convincing evidence of these changes already.
