  • YOUR score out of 10 for Resident Evil 6

    So; Resident Evil 6 has everyone really divided. Now that a lot of people have finally played it, how would you rate it out of 10?
    A lot have people have posted their thoughts all over the forum, but it's in a few different threads, and not many people have attached a number score so I thought I'd make a poll where people can put their score, and we can get a view if people do like the game and there's a vocal minority that are saying it's bad, or nobody here likes it and we can all get back to playing the older games.

    So please vote! With 1 being the lowest score, and 10 being the maximum.

        6 is fair enough for me
        considering this is a "resident evil game" i should give 2

        Pros:
        + Fun for play with a friend
        + most long RE game ever?
        + Great enemy designs, bosses wasn't (excluding ustanak)
        + Good graphics (please do not consider the textures)

        Cons:
        - They just buried the "horror" in this game, and place a gravestone.
        - Several annoying QTE
        - OST os nothing compared to previously games (ex: main menu music look like a batman ost, lol no kidding you know that)
        - Can't find a single memorable moment in any 4 campaigns, since every Resi game give us at least a single memorable event
        - A lot of bad, wrong or poor design choices for this game (ex: veichles chases, long moronic bosses fights, annoying qtes in most cinematics, bad usage of some qte during coop, infinite spam enemies, etc)
        - Poor gameplay design for a third person shooter
        - Abuse of cod formula: Linear clearing, cutscene, linear clearing, cutscene, boss. This game give us a false backtracking sensation :/
        - Introduced some awareness themes in franchising: the lame cloning from mr paul ws anderson movies
        - Explosions, explosions, explosions, too much michael bay porn for this game
        - Some amateur lame design decisions (Simmons boss transformations)
        - The exchangeable cross encounters feel uninspired, the same hangout in a campaign will be exactly in the other, nothing change (the final result is same, but the cross could change a little... it seems like a copy paste lazy stuff)
        - Some awful localization job, bad translated stuff in Brazilian Portuguese
        - Lack of polishment in MANY aspects, ex: when playing leon campaign for the first time the 2 demo sections feels like joint by a scott tape, it's weird
        - Why in name of god they mixed the files with the moronic way to find emblems? Jesus! this is one clear exemple of crap design decisions what i talked alot

          Doesn't play like RE anymore.

          Doesn't feel like RE anymore.

          Isn't fun to play, The controls feel 'delayed' almost, minimal level design that forces you to focus on the tiny objectives instead of giving you the larger areas to explore(like ye olden games) and then choose to complete an objective when you want to.

          Real time inventory system sucks and feels...off(I have to do WHAT to heal now?)

          The removal of the 'auto knife' was not a good choice. I loved that you had a basic melee attack button now, but sacrificing the 'autoknife' for this really was lame. I mean, how often are you going to switch to using the knife from your inventory when you have a melee attack now? Whats the point of even having a knife in this type of game if it doesn't have an auto feature?

          Then of course theres the story, new characters and...yeah. That was all mediocre for the most part. They had so many great opportunities to tell a good story here and give us some interesting characters, and they didnt. Resident Evil is a lot of things, but bland isnt one of them.

          Even 5, which I hate with a passion for being a generic crap action game that was a copy and paste job of RE4, still wasnt bland. It had some life it it, even though it was a shitty game(My opinion).

          In this game, shit happens, I dont give a fuck. Hostages? Fuck em. Quick time events? Fuck that. Clones? Jesus thats fucking horrible.

          I know folks here enjoyed the game and I'm not goign to try to take that away from you, but I am gonna say that Resident Evil 6 is why we cant have nice things. Its a loud, bland game that is filled with explosions and boring characters and situations, thats there to challenge your faith in the series.

          My faith in the series is pretty much gone now. CAPCOM doesn't know what RE is anymore and now it feels like they're just doing whatever the fuck they want and slapping the RE logo on it.

                9. It is easily the second best Resident Evil game! (the best being REmake) I had so much fun with it!

                              Normally I would disagree with 99% of what Vito posts, but he's right - RE4 did not play like a RE game... by far.
