Could it have been possibly removed due to the similar look to Jill's uniform in RE1?

I would think that was the point it was added in the first place. If you think about it, Both Rebecca and Jill's uniforms stand out from the rest of the team's designs. All the men wear vests and i think the original design had the women wearing shoulder pads and berets. I wish they would of kept the pads and beret in the final version of the game, i'm sure there was a point in the original version where Rebecca was supposed to lose them, probably in the last boss fight.

I'm deeply sorry, but we have to postpone the release of the interview for a while.
