CAPCOM will always remain more than just a name for me. From Mega Man to Viewtiful Joe. From BioHazard to Street Fighter II. From Gargoyle's Quest to LED Storm. From Final Fight to Devil May Cry...
That very company doesn't exist anymore...only in name...unfortunately...

Too bad it went to a completely wrong direction. At the end of the day, DMC4 still had the superior gameplay mechanics, better visual style and the much better loved, original trash talking Dante. DmC only had a load of childish expletives, shit gameplay, an unlikeable douchebag protagonist who looks like a heroin addict, and a visual style that resembles vomit. If you're going to make a series successful again, you must improve from your previous failure, not make it worse. New ideas by themselves aren't enough, you must also make sure they work.Originally posted by Dracarys View PostWhen DMC4 released it was called stale and boring even by dedicated DMC fans. The story was criticised even by DMC standards too (though always been poor). A lot of people thought it needed a big shake up of some kind.
Well it got one.

DMC 4 was quite a good game in my opinion, yes. Never tried reboot since I did quit current-gen gaming by then.
*sigh* imagine CAPCOM falling away. That is to me almost like a Nintendo falling away. This is more than just "stuff" falling away, this is a part of my childhood and more.

MegaMan Xover should have been a lesson to CAPCOM about mobile gaming - people absolutely despise it, and it's free to own!Originally posted by doriantoki View PostYou might want to take a few shots of whiskey before reading this maybe ...

Sigh.
destructoid sums it all up, perfectly:
As this generation went on, Capcom progressively got dumber and dumber. The shortest way I can word it is that Capcom started making games they thought their audience wanted instead of making games their audiences actually wanted.

You're not even being slightly objective, using double stanards and statements that don't even apply to the released game.Originally posted by Northman View PostToo bad it went to a completely wrong direction. You're both giving opinions, none of them objective. Especially your "hope they never get another game" crap simply because many didn't like what you like. Your other posts are based on subjective opinions you've selectively chosen to back-up your own, which doesn't make it objective.Originally posted by Dracarys View PostDmC was new. Was a great game too.
And I disliked both games, never wanted a reboot, and prefer the original series. There are many people who disagree, or agree to a degree, or agree completely. This still isn't an objective view.Last edited by News Bot; 10-06-2013, 07:59 AM.PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

I think DmC was a decent game. Not great but not bad. To me it was a step in the wrong direction. A reboot was not needed, but it could have been a direct sequel with improved graphics, AI, and a more in depth combat system.
