That would have raised political turmoil between Spain and the USA. It was supposed to be a secret that Ashley was kidnapped, so if Ashley died, I'm sure would have done more than just been angry/sad... He would have retaliatory things done...Comment

Personally I want it to be Sherry, but with an Alexia Ashford-like mutation. In doing so, I hope they also introduce Claire, who Sherry will "remember" and that's when the change of heart will take place, since no other characters bar Claire and Leon know who Sherry is / had as much to do with her as Claire did.Comment

Yeah, but wouldn't Sherry feel betrayed by Claire? I mean, not only did Claire just dump Sherry at the first chance she could (with Leon) she also aided in killing her father, and in a way, her mother... After being losing your whole family, and then being discarded by Claire like that, it would mentally scar any 12 year old I know...

Maybe Wesker took a form of the T-G Virus and did the same thing Alexia did; Went into hibernation (if you will) in order to contain it's undesirable effects - The sex change may have been unstopabble.
