?0= Vibration Off / Knife hold
?4= Vibration Off / Knife toggle
?8= Vibration ON / Knife hold
?C= Vibration ON / Knife toggle

Also I've noticed a pattern on some on the converted codes that work and don't work.
If a converted code doesn't work and it starts off something like 2??????? or 7??????? change it to a zero "0" you might wanna go back through this thread and retry some of the codes with this adjustment to see if it makes any difference.

    • Silenced Handguns - Handgun, TMP, Red9, Killer7, Blacktail & Punisher - Note: Equipt a gun then it'll have the silencer attachment also if at any time the gun becomes invisible after changing areas re-equip a gun or the game will crash when you aim your gun. The Red9 doesn't have the silencer attachment but the gun is muffled to sound like it's silenced, only the Red9 and normal handgun have the muffled sound the other guns just have the silencer attachment added to them.

      • Didn't know anybody else was playing with codes for RE4. Here's all my notes so far for the PS2 NTSC one:

        2042d9b4
        can't stop loading
        0 - works, nne
        8 - can't load
        80000 - works. nne

        9b8
got past loading, but black screen just before it started.
        0 - worked, nne
8 - The instant an enemy spotted me, the game froze. same as ffffffff?
        80000 - same as above
        1 - same as above

        a30
game froze when I switched weapons.
1 - game froze when I shot a villager with ada's pistol and the controller wouldn't stop vibrating.
        0 - nne
        2 - same as 1.

        a58
        doesn't stop loading.
1 - froze on black screen before it even got to loading.
        0 - same as 1.

        a6c
loading finished, but screen remained black and didn't show merchant.
        1 - nne
        0 - nne
        8 - nne
        80000 - nne

        a74
Loaded new round with Ada. It completely skipped the merchant, the movie, the files, and the map and went straight to the game. No entities including monsters or the player appeared, but the entire level was running for about 3 seconds before I got the "You Died" screen and was asked if I wanted to retry.
        1 - same
        0 - still same

        a84
different guns did more damage than usual, making some weapons kill in 1 hit. The sniper rifle's damage was severely decreased though.
        1 - decreased damage?
        0 - decreased damage?
        f0000 - decreased damage?
        ffff0000 - decreased damage
        ffff - same as ffffffff.
        ff - reduced damage
ff00 - increased damage, sniper rifle decreased damage.
        0f00 - that's the one.
        0800 - that's the exact value.
        0400 - nne
        0200 - nne
        0100 - nne

        a88
        game froze while loading.
        1 - same
        0 - same

        aa0
Screen was light green and only the HUD appeared. I could shoot, but there was nothing around. Start menu works, but no point to it. The arrow for me appeared on the map, but that's all that was on the map.
1 - started in a different place in the levels.
0 - same, and started in the same positions as 1.
        100 - same as 1.
        20000 - same as 1
        8000000 - same
        80000000 - same

        aa4
        same as aa0
80808080 - started in normal starting position, but a little bit in the ground (as Ada on a new round). Didn't affect Leon.
        0 - same as 80808080.

        aa8
        same as aa0
        80808080 - nne

        abo
        froze past merchant screen.
1 - Started as normal, but was facing a different direction.

        af0
stuck on tan screen after loading.
1 - stuck on black screen now.

        af4
ffffffff - Thermal goggles view. All items and the player aren't rendered in the start menu. Can't change weapons because it says I can't switch weapons while on the boat, but I'm not on a boat.
1 - portions of the map have items blinking outside the boundary, and a small black rectangle, and a weird liqiud/smoke effect. And white fog on the map.
        0 - same as 1.
80808080 - villagers came near me, but then always backed away and stood still. They never attacked. Same map effects too.
        80 - nne.
ff000000 - like ffffffff. except the fire was going and I could switch weapons. Still didn't render any moving entities like me or enemies, so I couldn't move.
        08000000 - same as 1.
        80000000 - same as 1.
f0000000 - no entities were rendered, otherwise nothing noticeable.
        40000000 - same as 1.
        20000000 - same as 1.
8000 - same as 80808080. This must disable the AI. Except a villager threw a hatchet at me and hit.
f000 - enemies only attacked with weapons, they never grabbed. Without weapons, they just walked into you and got in the way. Their attacks reduced your health all the way down, so getting hit twice would kill you. Map had the usual weird stuff.
        4000 - nne
2000 - enemies had the 2-hit kill thing and the map had the weird stuff.
        1000 - nne
f0000 - just the weird map.
f000000 - the map has the same weird stuff excluding the blinking item dots outside the level. And you get to see everything through the thermal goggles.
8000000 - just the weird map.
        4000000 - same as f000000.
80000 - just the weird map.

        af8
screen is completely black even though game is still going.
        1 - nne

        afc
everyone except the player moves in slow motion, and bow gun aiming is off. Ashley always appears by you, but she's completely black like a moving shadow.
        1 - nne
        f0000000 - nne
        ff0000 - nne
        ff00 - nne
        ff - nne
        ff000000 - same as ffffffff.
08000000 - same, but no ashley.
04000000 - same Ashley, no slow motion.
        02000000 - nne
        01000000 - nne

        b00-b20
        c00-d00
They all worked on codebreaker 9.2b for me.
When I say "nne", I mean No Noticeable Effects. There might have been something, but I didn't notice it. And I started every code with the value "ffffffff" first. I started the game the same way every time, just a new round with Ada. Then I just got hit, shot and killed some villagers with different weapons, did random stuff.

I stopped a couple days ago, but I will return to find the codes to give Ashley big boobs if somebody hasn't found it yet. I'll get back to that, but right now I'm digging through Shadow of the Colossus trying to find a moon jump code or something.

        • How do you find your codes? this is the only method I've found.

EDIT: Corrected code on post 149 thanks to Lee4.

          • I use a barbaric method nobody tries. All you need is a codebreaker and the game.
            There's that
            4aaaaaaa nnnnssss
            vvvvvvvv 00000000
code. I can skip through more than a 1000 codes at a time until I spot something.

It doesn't take near as long as people would think.

              • I use the 4xxxxxxx xxxxxxxx code. It's the "32-bit Multi-Address Write" on that link.

I don't have the tools to make a video.

Think of somebody going through every address as 0xxxxxxx FFFFFFFF one at a time, that would be slow as hell. But with that's 32-bit multi-address write command, I can go through over 1024 addresses at a time with FFFFFFFF.

How do you know when you've hit a working address? how do I go about doing this in codebreaker v9.3?
Is there anyway to go through the address's with the values starting from 0-999
                  0042DD0A 0000???
                  0042DD0B 0000???
                  0042DD0D 0000???

There seems to a be alot of codes in the 0042D???? address region.

                  • I'll try to explain it better with examples

                    4aaaaaaa ttttssss
                    vvvvvvvv 0000000

the aaaaaaa = the address, that would be your 042DD0A, except it needs to end in 0, 4, 8, or C since it's for 32 bit codes.

                    Think of it like this:
                    0042DD08 000000ff
                    0042DD09 000000b9
                    0042DD0a 00000013
                    0042DD0b 00000047

Those are 8-bit. They combine to make:
                    1042DD08 0000b9ff
                    1042DD0A 00004713

Those 2 are 16-bit and combine to make:
                    2042DD08 4713b9ff
                    That's 32-bit.

You can do multiple ones with each
                    0aaaaaaa ttttttvv
These are 8-bit and can end in anything.
The t's are how many addresses to go up and apply whatever value vv is.
So if you had 0042DD0A 00000452, that would make:
                    0042DD0A 00000052
                    0042DD0B 00000052
                    0042DD0C 00000052
                    0042DD0D 00000052

You can also do that with 16-bit. They look like
                    1aaaaaaa ttttvvvv
                    16 bit codes addresses always end in 0, 2, 4, 8, a, c, or e.
So if you had 1042DD0A 00039a21, that would make:
                    1042DD0A 00009a21
                    1042DD0C 00009a21
                    1042DD0E 00009a21

But it's different with 32 bit codes.
                    2aaaaaaa vvvvvvvv
They use all 8 of the last digits, so they have a shortcut.
And they always end in 0, 4, 8, or C.
So you use the special 32-bit multi-address write code:
                    4aaaaaaaa ttttssss
                    vvvvvvvv 00000000
The aaaaaaa is your address. The tttt is the same and is how many to do. The ssss is skips. The vvvvvvvv is your values. the 00000000 is nothing and probably isn't used, but I always leave it as 0's so it doesn't screw anything up.
                    So a code like
                    4042DD00 00050001
                    19d836a4 00000000
                    is actually a shortcut for:
                    2042DD00 19d836a4
                    2042DD04 19d836a4
                    2042DD08 19d836a4
                    2042DD0c 19d836a4
                    2042DD10 19d836a4

Now for an example with the skips:
                    4042DD34 0004002
                    2957cbda 00000000
                    is actually a shortcut for:
                    2042DD34 2957cbda

Now using all that, I usually use ffffffff as the value because it's the highest value and usually makes some unusual happen. Then I might hit a bunch of codes and the game might not start.
                    Like
                    40593750 00040001
                    FFFFFFFF 00000000
might cause the enemies to stand still and do nothing.
                    Then I divide it into
                    40593750 00020001
                    FFFFFFFF 00000000
But then the game returns to normal.
Then I'm sure the first 2 weren't it.
Then I just use the normal 32 bit code line and try the last 2. I try
                    20593758 FFFFFFFF
                    The code still doesn't work.
                    Then I try
                    2059375C FFFFFFFF
and the enemies stop moving again.
Then I know it's that code that's doing it.
Then I half the value and try
                    2059375C 0000FFFF
But the enemies are back to normal.
                    Then I try
                    2059375C 00FF0000
The enemies are standing still again.
                    Then I try
                    2059375C 00F00000
                    Enemies are back to normal.
                    Then I try
                    2059375C 000F0000
And they are standing still again.
So now I know what address and digit does it. Then I try other digits like
                    2059375C 00080000
                    The enemies are normal.
                    Then
                    2059375C 00040000
                    They are still normal.
                    Then
                    2059375C 00020000
                    They stand still.
                    Then
                    2059375C 00010000
Now they come at you but don't attack.
That was just a very long example.

With my method, you're not going to find something like a master code or joker command, and you won't even know what might happen. You just look to see if something changes.
I can't use any of the normal methods, because I don't have a DVD drive so I can't get the .ELF files. So I just figured out that crazy method about a week ago.

If it's still unclear, I can probably be more specific.

But with this method you can still find many codes. Wherever there is 1 code, there's usually a bunch of other codes right by it that might only be 4 addresses away.

                    And I forgot, your
                    0042DD0A 0000???
                    0042DD0B 0000???
                    0042DD0D 0000???
is in 8-bit format. You'd only have 2 question marks. Change them to
                    1042DD0A 000????
                    1042DD0C 000????
if you need more than 255 of something.

                    • What we really need is for DATEL to leak the source code to cdxutils and somebody adapt it for PS2 use and have it send the data through the network adapter instead of the PSX serial port.

Some light fixtures are missing? And almost all the doors were unlocked, even the ones that you can't unlock. When I went into the right door of the church with Ada and came out, it was night and all enemies vanished. I kept running around until I made it to the castle. I then got the chapter finished screen for Leon, then I kept going as Ada and the game stopped where all the catapults were supposed to be. Could also skip by merchant's bablling by pressing circle twice rather than once to get by each line of his text.

3 - She's now the old guy with white hair. Same knife and cloth over his head.
4 - Now she's the bald guy with the goatee.
                        b - normal lady

                        5-7 - nne
11 - She started in a odd crouching down animation.

                        288-2c0
                        she's missing again

                        8-bit 288
0-7 - nothing really, but a few times it seems like she was instantly aware of me rather than waiting to see or hear me, so she came at me faster than usual.
ff - she was aware of me the instant the level started.

                        32-bit 288
ffffffff - WTF??? She has glasses, was aware of me the instant the level started, and is holding a torch instead of a knife. She's also wearing a blue hat and didn't fade away when she was killed.

                        289
                        0, 4, 10, 20, 30, 40 - She had no weapon, she grabbed me.
1-3, 5-7 - Still unarmed, but now she was also wearing the brown cowboy hat thing. Her scream seemed a little strange.
50 - she was normal with the usual knife
60, 70 - she started with the same animation others do when they pull a hatchet from their side.
                        80 - normal
ff - she started wearing the round brown hat and carrying a torch, she didn't blow fire at me.

                        28a
0, 1 - no cloth over her head.
2 - she lit a stick of dynamite, but never threw it at me.
3 - she lit a stick of dynamite and threw it at me. I think she was planted in the spot she was at and was just going to stand there and throw dynamite at me.
50 - normal, but I think the cloth around her head was a darker color.
60, 70 - same, but she was wearing glasses.
ff - she was wearing a blue hat and glasses. She lit a stick of dynamite and threw it at me and killed herself in the explosion.

                        0042e28b
                        0, 2, 60 - nne
1, 3 - knife in left hand instead or right hand
50, 70, ff - she had a bag over her head and a chainsaw. She had no sounds though, so she was deadlier than usual.
"nne" means No Noticeable Effect. There might have been something there, but I didn't notice it.

                          • More fun. If somebody wanted to, using the stuff I just dug through you could change the type of enemy and position of probably every enemy in chapter 1 for Ada. Was a bit lazy after finding the first lady who disappeared, but you could probably change every enemy in chapter 1 to a bunch of chainsaw wielding maniacs.

ffffffff - she looked normal, but she could not be hit and didn't react to anything. She walked straight forward a few steps, collapsed, and died everytime she saw me do anything to the other villagers.

ff - she started a bit high in the air.

0 - enemies didn't make that weird puddle as they disappeared when you kill them, they just sunk into the ground. There is also no fire around the dead cop in the middle of the village. Incendiary grenades didn't make fire, although enemies acted like they were on fire. One guy turned black from the invisible fire. No visual effects from the normal grenade either, but there was an explosion. Villager carrying torch blew invisible flames at me.

0 - red grenades float down but don't explode into flames. Green ones float in a random direction and explode in about 2 seconds. flash grenades explode before you throw them. Anything that walks into a wall or edge of something instantly is moved away from it a little distance, so enemies can't jump down from areas, and I couldn't get them to climb ladders.

                            • I'm trying to make a code where Ashley is constantly Luis from memory dumps during and after the cabin fight as well as a code that changes Leon's Outfit when Ada catches glimpses of him in Separate Ways. I've only noticed him 4 times, twice in the village, once in the castle & when he's fighting Saddler at the end.
