Anyone got that Resident Evil Fever?

ahhh its a shame im trying to get myself a saturn along with Resident Evil ill probably getting around 1-3 months

as anyone else played the saturn version of re1

Once, long ago. Sadly I hadn't unlocked anything so it didn't feel much different, except the controls felt wrong (the PS1 controllers are apparently molded to fit my hands) so I had a hard time playing it.

I'm busy playing the Outbreak games and staring at Bioflames for news of 1.5. 5 hasn't caught my attention yet, and won't until I know a little more about it, and UC I don't own and don't intend to buy until it's a decent price, given the negative comments I've seen.

I bought a saturn last weekend. But I think its broken, because it loses its saves every few hours. So I haven't beaten the game yet. You can get the minigame with a code, but I don't have 2 control pads to input it.

The character textures are shit and mucky. The load times are longer than the PS1 load times. The Saturn control pad sucks soo much. I'll sit down one afternoon and play start to finish, but it's really hard to find the motivation
I also believe there is a new version of hunters called 'ticks'. Not sure if they are skinned, or actually a new model. I believe they are in the tunnels.

Definately the worst version of the original RE.

According to Wiki, Ticks are just blue Hunters with the same abilities. Nothing special.

Try replacing the battery or buying a memory card that goes into the cartridge slot in the back.

Really I heard it was the best port of the orginal RE but ill give it a try when I get a saturn and Resident Evil

Yeah character textures are shit and mucky but the actual models themselves are less square than the psx & pc versions, the 2d backgrounds seem to be of a higher resolution as well.

Bingo on the battery thing, I had to do it with mine. Ive had RE for the Saturn for a while, but I had recently played through the DS version and since its basically the same game, I had no interest in playing again.

Yea I had to replace my battery for my Jap Saturn a month or so ago. But I just ended up getting a memory card and an action replay 4 in 1 cart. The last time I beat the original RE was on the DS as well. I'm thinking of finally beating the Saturn version. I've had it for about 10 years and always got stuck in the laboratory plus the battery always died lol. I always liked the Saturn version the best! Though I suppose the DS version is a close second in being the best port imo. Too bad neither one had the machine gun etc.. like the PC version did

I got the saturn ver coz DS was too easy. Knife was wayyyy too overpowered. Hunters are 4 slashes, and they recoil after every hit!

Thanks for the battery tip. I thought I'd bought a lemon. What kind of battery do I need? Is it easy to find once I open it Up? I'll have to try on the weekend, or find a memory cart, which I was thinking of doing Haven't seen one for sale but.

Oh yea I agree though I bought and beat the DS version anyway You'll need to find a 2032 battery. Look in the back of the Saturn on the left hand side should be a little cover you can pry off inside should be a shiny round battery. You should be able to find these easly at Walgreens or Rite Aid. Unless you live in another coutnry. They cost about $3.99 You might be able to find them cheaper. Oh and you can find the memory carts cheap on eBay if I were you I'd buy an Action Replay 4 in 1 cart but these go for about $25 dollars new on eBay which is not a bad thing if you enjoy your Saturn as much as I do.

The Saturn uses a small bios battery used to save system settings and game saves. And the Saturn was never "unreliable" imo no use in trying to argue with somone who isn't an old school Sega fan like myself.
