That's how I feel about RE4.

In all seriousness, RE4 is a fun, mindless shoot-em-up. But it is still lacking in many areas, most notably the characters, story, etc. Still, I can see why people like Nikkolas fervently defend it.

As for the many side games...I never had a PS2 so I never got to play any of them. (There weren't any side games on any other platform, were there?)

I'd actually put Outbreak down as one of my least favorites in the series. Beating only Zero. Out of the seven games I've played, RE4 comes in 4th.

I wouldn't put Outbreak below Survivor or Gaiden, gameplay mechanics wise.

Haven't played Dead aim either. The RE games I have played are (in order of what I think is best to worst):

Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil
Resident Evil Code: Veronica (X)
Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil Outbreak

I'd like to play Outbreak 2 but I don't think I'll ever touch Survivor, Gaiden, or Dead Aim (I've seen LPs of them and not one looked at all interetsing to play).

Survivor had a few redeeming qualities. Mostly the music and the files.

Dead Aim is really fun to play with either a USB mouse or with a Guncon, but I hated aiming with the controller.
