More Resi news that came out to-day:

Slant Six Games, the Vancouver, BC studio developing the upcoming Capcom-published Resident Evil: Raccoon City, has licensed Donya's level of detail (LOD) solution Simplygon to increase graphical performance.

By adopting Simplygon, the team working on the new mulitplatform Resident Evil will be able to optimize the title's 3D graphics with LOD models that require "little to no fine tuning" by the game's artists, according to Donya.

LOD is an optimization technique used often by game developers, in which visual details that players cannot perceive (e.g. visual details of far-off or fast-moving objects) are removed, freeing up processing power and increasing a game's visual performance

US Release Date for Revelations set at February 7th. Pre-orders from GameStop beginning today come with an exclusive 3DS protective case with an image which changes in sunlight.

    Dear Paul,
Capcom is pleased to confirm that Resident Evil Revelations will release in North America for Nintendo 3DS on February 7, 2012. Revealing a brand new storyline, characters and locations for the Resident Evil series, Resident Evil Revelations delivers an exceptional survival horror experience in stunning 3D graphics.

Beginning today, North American retailer GameStop will begin offering an incentive for consumers who pre-order Resident Evil Revelations. A unique Resident Evil Revelations 3DS case with an image that changes in the sunlight will be available when consumers pick up their retail copies of the game.

Set between the events of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, the all new episodic narrative sees fan favorite characters Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield paired with new BSAA members Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat on their search to discover the truth about the Veltro terrorist organization and the T-Abyss virus outbreak.

Players will need to make use of the unique Nintendo 3DS touch screen to solve puzzles and switch between weapons as they try to survive the horror that awaits them around every corner. Environments will need to be scanned with the Genesis Scanner to reveal hidden items and identify enemies.

With more characters, brand new enemies and conspiracies still to be unveiled Resident Evil Revelations promises an authentic Resident Evil experience when it launches on Nintendo 3DS in February.

For the brand new packshot, an image of the 3DS case, and game information visit the Capcom Press Center press.capcom.com

    Thanks

Another RE: Revelations Preview came out today - sept. 26th 2011:

Article again mentions that you'll be able to control characters that are not the main protags (Chris & Jill). Probably in the same way you were able to control Carlos in RE3 or Ashley in RE4.

OK, folks. Read the title before I have to raise my voice. Which would suck, because I haven't got one.

No Gun Survivor either. Or Chronicles. The lack of Outbreak doesn't mean anything, since the trailer is just showing the "main" titles and three new releases.
