  • Wanna speak to the Majini in their native tongue?

    http://africanlanguages.com/swahili/

A fun translator -- translates english to Swahili and Swahili to english.

"Can't we talk about this!?" ...yes, Chris! Now you can!

Some words of note(according to this site's translator):

Majini = genies, sprites, demons, fairies, nymphs, wicked people
Giant = Jitu (thinking of El Gigante)
Kill him/her = Kumuua (think of it as RE5's version of 'Matalo!')
    Judge/chief/leader(Megaphone man?) = Hakimu
    Virus = Virusi
    Hello/how are you = Hujambo

Post anything else here that you can find and think of. And if you hear any chatter in the RE5 demo and wanna know what it means, enter it into the translator and see exactly what they're saying(I'm not sure on the validity of the translator, but it looks pretty official).

I can guess what "Americani" means =)

But other than that, I can pronounce what the Megaphone dude says, but I can't spell them correctly >_>

Very Cool, ChrisRedfield! I highly appreciate this!

Here are a couple others I worked out. Two in sentences.

1.) I am going to kill you (Te voy a matar in RE4) - "Mimi ni kumuua wewe"

          2.) Here! (Aqui in RE4) - "Huku!"

3.) Welcome to Africa! - Karibu ku Afrika!

I'm will do more and post. This is fun!

ALSO!! I just rewatched the first trailer that shows the Majini with the megaphone. He speaks English. He says "Kijuju is our home" in a thick accent. Swahili didn't come till later. I'm happy the extra effort was put forth.

I did a report about the language of the Majini, a few months ago but it's in spanish: -Here-

Swahili is used in songs, films and television programs worldwide...

For example, the film "The Lion King".

              You mean like:
Naaahhhhhhh sevanyaaaaaa ma tay ma KEE see ma baaaa.

The song at the beginning, you know.

                It's Swahili?
amn, I have a hard enough time trying to figure out what p[eople are saying to me in RE4!
                "Hijo de puta!"
Oh my gosh, did you hear that?!

I'm in Spanish III, I can understand nearly every word they say. XD Which is detrimental to the game when they announce that they're right behind me.

It's strange, 'cause in RE4 me and my friends could know when a ganado was behinde us (they shouted: "detras de ti, imbecil!" = "behind you, ass-h***!"), but now that they speake Swahiliit will be muuuuuch better!!! It will be a surprise to see what they mean when they shout X thing

"¡Detrás de ti, imbécil!" "Behind you, asshole!"

EDIT: Oh, looks like someone beat me to it. XD
