Well, sure, the easter bunny could've tipped him off, but the idea is to produce someone with a good reason to tip him off. Excella? Why? Evil Jill tipping him off doesn't make any sense either, and it's superfluous since Jill only did what Wesker told her to anyway.

I dont think it was Wesker, I really dont think he wanted to lure Chris to Africa as when Excella mentioned Chris being there Wesker seemed annoyed. I dont really think it was any solid intel that Chris got in regards to Jill being alive, as he really didn't get into it until he saw Jills picture. Who knows what it is, perhaps we won't ever find out. Hardly matters though.

You know, I noticed that Chris in RE5 seems particularly single-minded. You could argue that he's always been that way, but in previous games he was dedicated to bringing down Umbrella - which to me seems pretty selfless. But in RE5, and I guess you could say this is a character weakness of his, he's intent on finding Jill, to the point where he starts to ignore the objectives of his mission and disobey orders. I do like how that falls in line with how he was during his days in the United States Air Force, when he disobeyed his superiors to do something that he thought was right.

In RE5, dare I suggest that Chris has a certain self-centred attitude about him regarding Jill? They're close friends, and they've been partners for years but he placed her life and her wellbeing over the safety of the world - it wasn't until Jill told him to go after Wesker and stop him that he actually set his mind to it. It's a nice character flaw. There's one line in RE5 that I /LOVE/, and that's when Sheva mentions something about Chris being a "superhero" - which is partially right after all the shit he's been through and his status as one of the original founding members of the BSAA - yet Chris shrugs it off, you almost feel as though he failed Jill and that he's indebted to her. I like it.
        See you in hell.

I have to agree somewhat, I didnt really think about it until you mentioned it but how he acts in RE5 does really parallel how his files say he acted in the Air Force. You really never saw it in previous games because he wasn't really working a standard operation but rather fighting for his life/trying to find his sister.

Lets just say that Chris is a beast in this game. I always liked Chris and Jill from the first game and was suprised when capcom introduced new characters in RE 2. I thought that Chris character was a bit dull in the original but the voice acting or story telling was never that great to begin with. In CV I think they did a better job but there just seemed to be something missing. RE 5 Chris was almost perfect and they made Chris into a everyday person that is doing things that most couldn't do. Those stupid viral videos made Chris into a bitch and pretend they don't exist.

I'm as big of a Chris fanboy as missvalentine is for Jill. ;) I've just always identified with him. We've both been in the US Air Force, both been police officers, and both fight zombies.

Jill is by far my favorite character in everything, but I like Chris a lot. It's more than I can say about other RE characters, I mean, Claire and Leon are fine but I'm don't care for them...
                  .
I just want to see more Chris and Jill in action, I can't think in one without thinking about the other.
