When I first played Resident Evil 2: I assumed the fat cop would turn out to be Chief Irons. That he shrugged off the zombies, got outta the way of the crashing chopper in the nick of time, made it to his office (which was right down the hall from where the nose of the chopper ended up) and changed clothes.

Again: That was what I assumed.
