Well my copy arrived this morning. It's very, very basic, absolutely no new info. If you havent already ordered it, my advice is not to bother unless you are a collector.

Well the Japanese are getting one for such according to play-asia and it clocks in at 160 pages. Still nothing on an English language version though.

Perhaps they learnt the lesson last time for Umbrella Chronicles where they leaked major plotline in the files section due to releasing the guide slightly before the game.

for the Japan side, maybe its because the game is due several months away so no use announcing a guide now

The UC guide was indeed awful when it actually came to covering the game. I did like the files archive, though. But sometimes I'd rather read the files in-game so I can listen to the creepy music that plays. It's a different vibe.

Well at least DSC is getting a pre-order shirt. I remember pre-ordering UC like 4 or 5 months before it came out and it came with nada...they could have at least thrown in the walkthrough guide for free lol.

If i recall the correctly the future press guide also omitted any mention of how to acquire the special items for the archives section.

I remember getting this and it had so many errors. Some of the unlockables were wrong and I had to go online when I had trouble finding some of the final files. I also remember it not telling you were to find the handcannon and I found it accidently.

Ironically the gun survivor guide was one of the best of the series in my opinion. Very detailed for such a maligned RE title.
I realise UC had guides but i just question this due to the game only three weeks away from release in the US. Remember, primagames had a 15 page preview of their UC guide a good 3 to 4 weeks before the game was released.

I wonder if there are going to be secret areas like in UC such as the bathroom and the R.P.D. office. Anyone have any guesses what they may be if there are any?

You're correct Stu. The Gun Survivors did have guide books. It would be odd if DSC did not get a guide, but I'm sure one will be released eventually. I don't remember getting the UC guide until after the game had been out for a week or two, so maybe it will come out after the game's release.

Nah if Umbrella Chronicles got one and still guided you through the different parts, this will too. Pretty sure the Gun Survivor titles did also.

Still nothing. I'm still convinced this is due to it being on the rails. No point producing a 200 page book for a game where you can't even control where you go. Here's hoping i'm wrong.

Does anyone know if Dead Space Extraction received an official guide? If it did then i think we can put our fears to rest. If not, then its a bit of a shitter to have collectible guides for every single RE game bar this one.
