  • Resident Evil 2 Timer-related Question

If I pause the game from the start button (screen dims, says "Paused"), is time still going to be counted like I'm actually playing?

I need to know this. I need to take breaks, and I don't feel like saving to turn it off (also want as few saves as possible).

yes it counts if i remember correctly.

^Well that's not nice to know.

I guess I better go back to my last save again. Sigh...

      Can anyone else confirm this?

From what i remember it does still keep the timer counting, but i never pause the game, i just do a complete run through, it's easier that way i guess and you get through it quicker without having to get your bearrings again after you've gone away for a while

If you're playing it on Gamecube / Wii just open the lid / eject the disk and the timer will stop counting, reinsert it and you're ready to go again, the timer will stop until you reinsert the disc.

            I'm on PS2.

            I'm guess I can't do this?

For what I remember pressing the Pause button doesn't stops the internal timer of the game, yet, I think pressing Select to get the configuration menu does. I have to re-check though.

You could open the disc tray on the ps2

                  ^See, I think I might do that.

                  Still gotta restart it though.

I thought that it would just reload the disc whenever you put it back in and continue on. My bad.

I thought you were saying you tried it and it didn't work. Sorry for the confusion.

I just checked, the Select button doesn't stops the timer either.

what you could do, is freeze your ps2 in the freezer. that seems to work. try it, record it, and post results lol
