I just got Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition for the PS3 and have been doing a playthrough with the Playstation Move and when the Move works, it works good. I noticed with the Move in RE5 that they don't use the colored ball to track movement but rather use the accelerometer. That's an OK method but you constantly have to recalibrate it...

I don't really play resident evil anymore, its an old series that doesn't "wow" many people in this day and age. I mean horror nowadays is HOLY FUCK ITS A MONSTER UNLOAD SO MUCH FUCKING SHIT INTO IT ARGH TAKES THIS *loud machine gun noises* Unless resident evil sticks to its current formula with some small changes, people are going to leave it behind.

Because they are actually hard...on normal. I feel where your coming from with leech man, it's just kind of unnerving/creepy watching that mound wiggle and wobble while it's inching it's way towards you.

I've decided to play my RE games in order basically. So RE0,1, remake,2,3 and anything inbetween.
I've been playing RE0 and I've found it to be much easier than the first time I played it. I find myself thinking "why was I ever scared of that thing?"(leech man, I don't know why, but it traumatised me for some reason xD), I still love the proto-tyrant fights too. The one thing I still don't like is Rebecca's voice, it's waaay better than the Umbrella Chronicals version in my opinion, but sometimes her voice goes right through me. I play RE4 and 5 on the hardest difficulty levels, but I can never bring myself to play anything past normal mode on the older games.

When you see the scene where the gun rise from the ship, take cover behind the wall on the stairs. Kill the enemies, and when the gun pauses, run out and grab the blue card key. Take cover again, and make your way back up the stairs, past the elevator thing, and put the card into the big turret there. Use it to destroy all the guns, then make your way across the ship using the wheel thing.Originally posted by CrimsonElder View PostYeah thats the part, any tips? I keep getting nailed by the big gun and I only have say 2 healths.
When you get to the top of the ship, a big gun will rise right in front of you. Don't panic - turn right, grapple up, grab the red card key, and grapple across. Run your ass off to the turret on the right and pop the card in. Destroy all the new guns (five I believe); when you destroy the first a countdown to the ship's destruction will begin. Quickly destroy the rest, run to the right, fall down, get back on the wheel, back on the ship, and run back to where the big gun rose in front of you. Kill the enemies and run through the door to get to safety.
Don't be discouraged if you die a lot; this is one of the hardest parts of Separate Ways!

currently Playing RE: Archives Resident evil Wii edition
I’m currently playing Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil on the Wii
somehow the controls are making this game more scary lol I’m having a terrible time getting used to the controls I keep running into walls or into the zombies rather than away from them it makes it amusing but kind of frustrating to lol but I’m enjoying the experience nether the less.
Great game I’m getting nostalgic playing it haha the good old days when Resident Evil was creepy and scary instead of dark and action based lol

Save a hand grenade for this part, and as soon as you skip the cutscene, throw it right at one of the doors. It should blow the lock off the door and stun everyone, giving you a chance to get out of the cage.Originally posted by CrimsonElder View PostThe part when you are stuck in a cage with a Garrador (Wolverine) really pissed me off. Unless you hit select during the cutscene where he jumps down you really dont stand a chance, he is straight on you. Then you have some idiot with a ball and chain smashes you from outside the cage?
I'm not sure which part you're talking about. The part with the battleship?Originally posted by CrimsonElder View PostFinally after getting through that I managed to make it to the part where a Garnado is firing some big ass gun at you. Think its chapter 4. You have to make your way up through some maze like platforms by using the grappling hook. Man this was total shit. One hit from this gun is instant death!
You took the words right out of my mouth! There's no fear when you have a partner to back you up!Originally posted by geluda View PostI don't think Resident Evil is supposed to be co-op, not for me anyway. Having another human there to talk to destracts me away from the atmosphere of the game and overall makes it a less fearful experience. Similarly, having an AI opponent following you around is a chore and distracts me away from what should be an immersive experience. There needs to be some sort of balance and for me Resident Evil 5 didn't find that balance.

Guest repliedFear is probably the wrong word to use to describe what I mean. Perhaps the word atmospheric would describe it a little better. Whatever the word, I think co-op takes away from the game as opposed to adding to it, I'd rather it was just me and the game not me and someone else (whether it be a human or an AI).Last edited by Guest; 04-13-2011, 12:27 PM.

Resident Evil stopped being Resident Evil when RE4 was released. You have to put those assumptions on the side when you are playing RE5.Originally posted by geluda View PostYou see that's what I don't like! I don't think Resident Evil is supposed to be co-op, not for me anyway.
Unfortunately, the game fails to scare us in the first place due to its action oriented environment. So as I mentioned, when you are talking in the context of RE5, you'd have to put all the classic RE assumptions and expectations to the side.Originally posted by geluda View PostHaving another human there to talk to destracts me away from the atmosphere of the game and overall makes it a less fearful experience.
And in all probability these people are too young today to have played the original RE games, hardly lucky.Originally posted by CrimsonElder View PostBelieve it or not there are people on Youtube who are terrified by RE5 somehow, lucky bastards.
