I knew it. He's stunned by how disappointing it was. Totally called this one.

The episodic structure is great and the story is fantastic, probably the best in the series. There are no shared plot-threads with the rest of the series, it is very much a stand-alone story. However the ending (an after-credits scene) is quite an ominous cliffhanger, and appears to be connected to BH6. Gameplay was great, and the final area in the game in particular was extraordinarily creepy. It definitely is the "return to form" it has been touted as. Hopefully Leon's scenario in BH6 follows its example.
It also has the largest boss in the series. No contest. It is a sight to behold, particularly on a portable.Last edited by News Bot; 01-26-2012, 12:20 AM.PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

First teasers are rarely accurate representations of the final product, calling it a cop out is a bit aggressive. "Clone Chris" is in the game, though. No HUNK or Zombies. From what Spencer has told me, it has no ties to the teaser at all. The "clone chris" and "HUNK" reveals sound like a cop out in the long run.
No Wesker in the game at all. No Alex Wesker either. Which I am very grateful for.Originally posted by Vito View PostNews Bot can you answer me this single question?
Spoiler:
Is there any mention (File or dialogue) or cameo of Wesker?
I REALLY want to know.

There's no Australian voice in the game in general. The entire trailer was just a very loose concept of the game.Originally posted by Smiley View PostReally? So explain why clone Chris sounds like Jason Statham in the trailer....oh wait... ;DPROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

And by very loose we should take that as "complete re-write". But hey, that teaser hype did do its job. We all speculated clone Chris, Jill aiming her gun at him, and HUNK being tied in some way. Props to Capcom for their BS teaser.
Doesn't mean the game is bad. It means their teaser left questions that were over all BS. No point in arguing that.
So how's the cast list for the English VAs? I'd be surprised if Jill was still voiced by P.J. Lee.Last edited by Smiley; 01-26-2012, 01:00 AM.

I guess BH1.5 and the early versions of BH4 are all BS too? Come on dude. Things change when a game is only 10% into development in its first short teaser.Originally posted by Smiley View PostAnd by very loose we should take that as "complete re-write". The English cast is solid, the acting is fine. Quint's voice can be a little grating, and the news reporter woman in the Terragrigia video is also the voice of the Queen Zenobia. So much for the whole "machine voice" thing, considering her voice is ridiculously clear. I didn't bother looking at the actors. P.J. Lee was not my favorite performance (if anything, she is one of my most hated in the series) so I'm glad she did not reprise the role of Jill.PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

Difference being that those were scrapped and shown to be going a different direction reworking the game. We're not calling the teaser 5.5 or 4.1 now are we? Nothing was mentioned to shown or said to tell that they were re-writing the story as opposed to making the mack daddy of all fake out trailers.

The game's 16+ rated in Europe in general. Guess that says it all, regarding the violence/gore level.Originally posted by Wrathborne View PostSo newsbot, did they trim the violence like they did in RE5? or we got the classic goofy gore the series used to be filled with?
Yet to see that happen. The enemies tend to focus mainly on the player, but they do still land hits on your AI partner, though (not sure how the general AI behavior for their attention span actually folds out yet)Originally posted by Smiley View PostDo your AI partners die after heavy damage or are they immune to attacks?
