Playing RE5 gave me the figure fever again so I went on eBay and picked me up a trio of figures for £17. Just need to get my shelves back up so I can display 'em all proper like . . .

    Hey,

I don't have any WIPs for the Neptune, but I did manage to take some for the Gnaw I'm doing, which should be done in a few days.

Can you do some "before/after" pictures? i think the result would be more impressive, and we'll be able to see how much it changed

    Impressive and most enviable collections.

I wish I had spare cash for figures, sadly they're not my hobby so I can't ever bring myself to spend much money on them (my mortal body needs food more) I have a cute little Bella Sister that my mother thinks is cool, but that is it. I had the free not-really-a-figure Chris that came with RE5... But I was making him do circus tricks hanging upside down on my finger and he fell and his leg broke off. My sister laughed and laughed... I cried and cried.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I'm really glad you like the hyena! Yeah, I'd be happy to post some When-In-Progress pictures of future figures. I've got a Neptune I still need to post, and I'm working on a Gnaw, a stalker and feral (lions), Barry Burton, a Ganado woman, El Gigante, as well as a lot of other zoo animals from Outbreak File #2. Also, I can post some scale pics with other RE figs.

Be sure to be on the lookout for more soon!

    Nice, you have talent!
You're able to so some nice resident evil "dioramas" i guess, people who are good at painting like you make superb things.

Wow that's really cool! Good detail and it certainly looks better than some of the licensed Cerberus figures I've seen, only possible problem I imagine would be scale do you have any RE5 figures that you can stand beside it?

Anyway can you give us a brief walkthrough on your process or is it a "trade secret" . . .

Hyena (Resident Evil 5) Custom Figure

    Hey everyone!

I'm new here, so I hope I'm not putting this in the wrong place. I customize action figures, and I thought you guys might like to see a couple of my RE figures. Here's a hyena from RE5 I made a few weeks ago. Please let me know what you guys think of it!

I don't have any of the original releases which is why I'm gong after the Archives ones. I'm not really into used figures and I read the archives ones can be repackaged also, not using a rip open package like most figures.

Yeah a chase variant is just the same figure with some minor alteration typically a mere change in colour the most significant variation I've seen was on a Palisades Nemesis Figure where the regular one had his mouth closed and the chase had his mouth open. This at least showed they made an alternate sculpt rather than just swapping the paint a bit but I'm sure there are more examples like Nemmie.

As for looking for the Archive figures I'd ignore them as they are just re-released in new packaging if your like me and don't care about said packaging you could luck out and find them "loose" on ebay. I got Chris, Jill, Zombie and Hunk for £22 about two years ago all accessories no boxes = bargain. Just search for "loose figure" you usually have to crawl through about twenty pages of WWF Figures and such and I can't promise anything but you never know . . .

Yeah it was that 'chase' variant. Thanks for that. So why is it called that and is it just black as the difference?

Also while on the subject can anyone recommend a good place to buy these cheap please (like less than the £15+ most places asking)? I've googled a lot but the only places I find selling any Archives figures are play.com, ebay and forbiddenplanet.co.uk (which I've read all sorts of CC scams about so will not be using). Play.com had the first lot for cheap at £10 each so I don't feel like paying another 50% for the second lot.

I found some others but noticed they are just the same people listing on ebay and play.com.

edit: that is based or at least ships to UK, thanks.

    I'd say it's a chase variant.
In the 10th anniversary series 1 (which this is a re-issue of), Jill in a green hue was the chase variant. Something this uninspired doesn't suprise me.

The other thing is just a small kind of diorama thing. 38 pounds is way overpriced. You should be able to pick it up less than that, or the whole set of 6 for not all that much more.

It looks rather crap, I'll probably pass unless something special about it.
Is it a chase variant maybe?

On a side note anyone know the story on this one:
