Rare map I found in RE2 Preview (PSX)

Hi, I found a rare map into ROOM206 from Resident Evil 2 Preview (from Director's Cut):

I think this is not a RE2 map... or I wrong?

Is this probably a 1.5 map???

Too difficult to make out. The name makes no sense. It seems to end in a y making almost anything but Factory or Laboratory seem unlikely, but it's such a mess and compressed to low quality it's impossible to tell. It could just be random letters or something random. The map itself, I dunno. I don't really see anything it directly matches up to. I don't think it's 1.5 though either. Almost seems to be a bit random.

Looking at it, I would guess it's an earlier version of the RE2 RPD's layout or maybe even a section of Raccoon City.

Yeah it might be some kind of early retail map. Or something. I dunno, the more I look at it, I see what appears to be somewhat recognizable spots from retail areas and 1.5, but they don't seem to fit together right. It's almost like they took parts of a few maps and just threw into a random jumble. It's meant to be so low quality though, I doubt they really put much thought into it.

Doesn't the Dreamcast version of RE3 have higher resolution backgrounds?
Perhaps more could be made out of that map by looking at it in that game?

Good find - it definitely stands out from other items in that screenshot, surprised it wasn't picked up on before. I'm sure it has some meaning from either RE 1.5, RE2 or even RE1 - it looks like a map from a RE game, quickly traced or not

I think most of you are confused, the map is not part of the background, is a 3D object.

Is there any way to get a bigger picture of the origional version, then? That might shed some light on things. Although I assume that's not simple.

There isn't a bigger one unfortunately. I have it ripped from the disc myself and it's posted at it's original size.

I tried to resize it a bit but it doesn't look any better. I'll see what I can do in Photoshop.

I can make out that it says "Factory B4" as the map title but everything else is blurry. I'll try a sharpen mask and then up the brightness and contrast a bit.
