Wasnt exactly a tough competition though even Transformers made it in there.

The reveal trailer and the E3 trailer are way better than the Captivate trailer, which didn't even have a lick of gameplay.

Gameplay isn't necessary to make a good trailer. The Captivate trailer was brilliant because it was so intense towards the end with this awesome music and Chris and Leon fighting. E3 trailer is just a succession of big explosions and over-the-top actions. Too cliché for me. To be honest, I really didn't like the E3 trailer. Only the beginning was good.

I'm sure this is a stupid question, but all 6 characters will be playable off the bat? I ask because I seem to remember (on solo campaign) that only Chris could be selected until after the first playthrough.

I'm pretty sure than only Leon, Chris, and Jake will be playable for the first time through on single-player. And yes, in RE5, only Chris was available for the single-player campaign until you finished the game at least once. And since you can switch which side of the screen any of the six characters appear on (which is an awesome game-fixing upgrade from RE5), I'm assuming that all of them would appear to be right-handed in the cutscenes.

If it's anything like RE5 you can play as the secondary character so long as you join someone else's campaign. From then on when you beat the game you have the option to choose which character to play.

But that's only speculation. If mercenaries is available from the get go then I could see Capcom making characters optional. We'll have to wait and see.

I'd quite like to play as all the characters except for Alex....I mean Albert..shit Jake. Piers looks pretty cool and I am taking a shine to Helena. Jake seems like abit of a teenage dirtbag and dont really care for his character, heres to hoping he turns out to be an evil son of a bitch.

That's kind of the point of Jake - he's a jerk who only cares about money. I hope he doesn't turn out to be evil per se, but I don't want to see him be 100% good either. The series has enough big damn heroes. It would be nice to have a protagonist who's in it for something other than saving the world.
