No, the cloaked, masked henchwoman is NOT Hunk. There is obviously a set of tits protruding from the chest region. See how the cloak rests on them? Someone else posted earlier with a great picture depicting this.

Besides, you can see the outline of *her* jaw beneath the mask in the Famitsu picture where masked woman and some pale-faced dude are in a car.

Jill's ultimate fate = barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen where she is safe. Just kidding.

The new masked figure and her associate seem pretty interesting...I can't wait to hear more about how they play into all of it. My guess would be that they are somehow manipulating/in control of the infected. I don't want to believe the masked woman might be Sherry. I mean...they have already shown the woman in the tube's face...why would they go and hide it now?

I think maybe Jill is *pregnant* this time around, which is why she is nowhere to be seen. She's 33-years-old in RE5 time...baby-making age...

As for seeing Sherry's face. Well, yes, it is visible in the stasis tube, in the one picture that we've seen. As for the in-game story, maybe her face is hidden so no one (in the game world) recognizes who she could possibly be. And if Wesker is using her for his bidding, he wouldn't want Chris recognizing a Birkin descendant (who I'm sure his sister has told him all about)...

Well the thing is though....Chris himself has never seen Sherry, and ten years is a long time for someone to grow and change. Hell...it's only been 4 years since my high school graduation, and I see people from my classes and barely recognize them. Chris also never saw William or Annette.

Well, my guess is that there were pictures of William, Annette, and Sherry. The parents may have died, but surely their family home was still scoured for evidence (if it wasn't destroyed when Raccoon City was nuked). Still, the evidence of their existence surely hasn't been eradicated from the face of the earth...so I am sure Chris and Claire have deep knowledge of the Birkin genealogy. Besides, with Sherry just *disappearing,* I am sure they suspect dark forces at play in that...

As for keeping her face hidden, well, there has to be a reason. (If the masked figure, tube girl, girl in red dress ARE all Sherry Birkin anyway...) Maybe Wesker fears someone will recognize or suspect it is Sherry?

It's all just food for thought, which is what any tidbits of information do to us rabid members of the RE fanbase: drives our imaginations wild with possibilities and unsubstantiated speculation. Haha.

I wouldn't bank on Claire's protective side to really come into play. Sherry wasn't mentioned at all during CV...not that there was really much of a chance to. As for any deep knowledge of Birkin genealogy....I doubt it. And Sherry just didn't disappear. Though the epilogues and Wesker's report vary some, its safe to assume that to Claire and Leon, Sherry was supposed to be given to safe hands. They could have thought Sherry had family elsewhere away from Raccoon and would be given to them for custody. I don't think they'd really go all out looking for her considering we know Leon already took a different path by becoming a government agent.
I could be wrong though. We'll just have to wait until we get more info.

That is the one reason I've always wondered if Sherry is gonna be in RE5...everything points to her and she's the most likely choice but there's no character interaction between her and Chris which would make the reunion less important and emotional than if it was Claire or Leon.

As for if the masked bodyguard was her then I'd guess it's because Chris has seen footage of that test tube part himself, so he knows who he's looking for. Then he gets into a fight with the masked one and ye gads! it's Sherry being controlled by evil brain chips. Or something.

On the plus side it means on escort missions she won't just sit there crying. Probably. Hopefully.

Its Wesker in the cloak, he joined the KKK

                    Cool scans, looks good.

You know, I actually think it would be pretty cool if we found out via the flashbacks that Wesker has been systematically killing everyone who has stood in his way up to this point, and now, Chris is the only one left. It would certainly add a new dimension to their "relationship." Just imagine if Wesker killed everyone for no other reason than to piss Chris off.
Thats actually the best idea i've heard in this thread.
The Flashback scenes would make alot more sense covering that, considering Chris is supposedly Weskers bitter enemy, it'd make sense that Wesker once Chris and Jill were no longer of use to him following Umbrellas End he'd begin to cap off STARS members while he rebuilt umbrella.

Honestly, Wesker doesn't give a shit about pissing Chris off. He could have killed him and Claire any time in CV, but he didn't. Of course Chris despises Wesker, but Wesker is just happy to have a partner he can toy with, as seen in CV and UC. As a stupid B-movie bad guy, he has to under-estimate his enemies and just leave them alone, since as long as they do not bother him, he doesn't need to pay attention to them.

I was wondering at the beginning of development if Jill was going to be a playable character, obviously not. But she should be included at some point since this seems to be at least a return to old story lines.

Gamespot's Playstation Newsletter is listing 5/05/2009 as the release date for RE5. Is this a tenative date that they are telling the media?

Indeed probably one of the best theories. It being Sherry is almost too obvious, and too big a release for something that is supposed to be so mysterious. Capcom didn't even want to release that it was Chris at first...knowing the tube girl is Sherry almost before we even know the plot to the game...yeah...doesn't sound right.

However, Capcom has already mentioned other characters will be returning...and there are only so few characters that it could be.

I think, if he was escorting her, that she would still be as useless as Ashley. He already has Sheva....three people fighting at once would be way too much. It would be like going through re4 with Leon, Ada, and Luis.

If it is sherry, all chris has to do is say his surname and she will know its claires brother. She's probably still waiting for claire to return to her.
Yeah that new henchwoman could possibly be a returning character, if that is some sort of official in that car, maybe someone working undercover and can't reveal her face for fear of being recognised

Capcom's first RE5 trailer didn't "say" it was Chris, but it was obviously an aged Chris Redfield to anyone with common sense. I mean, the face was the same model as Chris in REmake. It was just older, with scruff.

I think they added "Chris Redfield" text to the second RE5 trailer, because there were various people claiming the "mystery" character from the first trailer was Billy Coen, or Carlos, or Ark Thompson, or some other random male RE character.

As far as the emotional reunion of Sherry and Claire...c'mon, this is Capcom and RE. There never is much emotional impact within their storylines. Sherry's story needs to be wrapped up, she was taken by Wesker (in Wesker's Report), and her DNA could prove useful to him. Since he is the main antagonist in the RE universe (and RE5), him using her for his bidding makes sense. The developers of RE5 are fond of Chris, so they chose to use him. All these factors make some sense that Sherry is the tube-girl, or the girl in the red dress, or the masked/cloaked woman (or ALL three). Chris knows about Sherry's existence, and Sherry will recognize the Redfield last name. That's all the connection the two need, IMO.

I doubt Sherry will be an Ashley-type character, who needs to be protected, unless she is initially an amnesiac (in the scene where she is collapsed in his arms). Eventually, she'll probably become some brainwashed baddie who Wesker is manipulating to hurt Chris, while Chris is unable to attack Sherry because he knows she is a pawn.

Sherry, aka tubegirl, has basically been confirmed to be NOT like Ashley(directly and non-directly).
