DreamCast was upper-end Nintendo 64 generation. GameCube and PS2 were the generation above (look at REmake's graphics compared to CV, for example). Then we have the Wii, in this generation, comparable to the 360 and PS3, but the graphics not being on par with the other two. Still, it's a LOT more capable than the DreamCast.Originally posted by The Ekamp View PostDreamcast was the beginning of last generation, Gamecube was in that generation, and Wii is pretty much a Gamecube. lol

But they already had the Saturn with the N64 and PS1. They can't have two consoles in the same generation! That's unpossible! =OOriginally posted by Alexia_Ashford View PostDreamCast was upper-end Nintendo 64 generation. I don't sincerely believe it. Unless it is just a port with Wii controls implemented. Out of all the old games though, I feel like RECV could definitely use a remake over RE2 or RE3. RECV is just ugly. It didn't age well at all.Originally posted by A-J View Post
And I happen to enjoy the story. Plus, you can't go wrong with an RE game featuring Chris & Wesker.
But in all honesty, I think this guy's comments are being taken out of context/spun the wrong way.
Regardless, we'll find out in a few days.
Thanks Ralph Wiggum.Originally posted by The Ekamp View PostBut they already had the Saturn with the N64 and PS1. They can't have two consoles in the same generation! That's unpossible! =O
What is the Dreamcast classfied as? I always believed it was kind of in-between generations. I only ever knew one person that owned one anyway...Last edited by Jill's Boob; 03-07-2009, 08:18 PM.

Dreamcast was definitely in the same generation as the PS2 and Xbox. Just because they had the guts to release first, and a fair amount of time before the big boys released their consoles doesn't separate 'generations' at all.
The Dreamcast never had a chance out of the gate, all I remember in mag after mag back then was how Sony & Microsoft's machines were gonna squash Sega's entry, and this was even before their consoles had hit the market. It was like the hype spread by the media killed the Dreamcast before all 3 had an even chance of competing(all 3 out in the market at the same time), developers were running to the big guns, leaving Sega in the dust...anyhow... it all sucked imo.

Not everyone does. I for one loved it, for a Wii shooter it had plenty of stuff in it. I suppose people just hate it for the new story elements, which were admittedly ridiculous (but, hey, they filled some gaps that needed to be filled), and featured one of the lamest villains to g race the series (Sergei Vladimir). But not everyone hated it. I for one had a blast with it.Originally posted by nemesiswontdie View PostLOL, why does everyone hate UC?

Yeah, you can't say G-R-A-C-E because there's ma troll by that name. And when you speak his name he magically appears. It's actually quite disturbing how fast he can show up.
I wouldn't be shocked if this was Umbrella Chronicles, or the BSAA Chronicles or something since it'll more likely involve those elements. I would be a sad, sad panda. But hey, maybe they'll go a different route and, well, a good one. Not a rail shooter. Umbrella Chronicles was origionally supposed to be playing parts of the older games in an RE4 style. Since they'd have to remake a lot of the stuff for RE2 and CODE: Veronica to make it look up to scratch it shouldn't be impossible. They can't really go the easy route this time.
Well, unless they use Outbreak backgrounds for RE2's section...which is horribly, horribly possible. It would mean RE2's section is pathetic though.
And RE4 is already perfectly ready to play RE4 style (DUH). And it makes no sense to play that one with two players, at any point. Can you see Ashley firing off a magnum?
