Reaaaaaaaaaally tempted to get RE2 ... though I want to check my local GameStop since I have seen the GC RE2 release there before. >_> Hmmm ... decisions.
This is great news though. I am going to pimp out all 3 games to everybody I know, because I think it's so cool they can give the games a go now and have easy access to it.

What the hell are you guys whining about? You have so many chances to play this. You can easily open up a US PSN account on your PS3 and it looks like you already know English. Then to pay, you can just buy the PSN cards online anywhere like Ebay. They can email you the code. So easy.Originally posted by BadWolfX View PostI started to smile and then I saw the US part and frowned instead.
The rare people like me, on the other hand, who want to get certain things from the European stores have NO real options. There are no PSN cards in Europe and none of the virtual visa cards work with Europe PSN.

I could be wrong, but even if I go to all the trouble of grabbing this off the American site I was under the impression that the region locking was still active for PS1 and DVD's and, as such, this would be about as useful to European folk as a swift kick in the groin.
Fortunately I always go with the hardcopy.

No they weren't. Well for one, they weren't "illegal", and two, i had all the games listed in this thread working fine on my PSP.Originally posted by Darinl1979 View PostThese are guarenteed to work, playing the illegal copies were choppy and clunky in alot of parts.
I've downloaded Metal Gear, Final Fantasy 7 and RE: DC from the US PSN and they work fine for me in the UK. That's the reason so many people recommend setting up a US PSN account to get stuff.Originally posted by Darkmoon View PostI could be wrong, but even if I go to all the trouble of grabbing this off the American site I was under the impression that the region locking was still active for PS1 and DVD's and, as such, this would be about as useful to European folk as a swift kick in the groin.

That's useful to know. I was under the impression that the PS3 wouldn't let you use different region games that weren't PS3. Does that include the hard copy though? I have a few American games lying around (and an American PS2 that needs a new power cable) so I might try that later...

The region locking is active for the HARD copy. The PSN games don't have this "feature." The game should work perfectly fine on the Region B PS3. Region B PS3 supports NTSC 480i (but Region A doesn't support Pal) so I don't see where you could run into an issue.Originally posted by Darkmoon View PostI could be wrong, but even if I go to all the trouble of grabbing this off the American site I was under the impression that the region locking was still active for PS1 and DVD's and, as such, this would be about as useful to European folk as a swift kick in the groin.

Make a fake PSN account with a US address. Simply buy a PSN code off ebay or whatever. Now you can purchase the game on the US PSN. Should play without any hickups.
