Darkside Chronicles Website Update: The Ashfords Blog + Trailer

This week's blog update for The Darkside Chronicles introduces us to the Ashfords. Also, the Japan Expo trailer that's been making rounds earlier today has also been uploaded to the official website.

In the Code: Veronica portion of Darkside Chronicles, there is a chapter called “Game of Oblivion”

So, it seems scenarios will be divided into named chapters.

I'm very happy to hear that the main focus will be on the Ashford family line, and not an unimportant series ruining feud.

The Ashfords are so much more interesting. Alexia and Alfred are both awesome characters.

There were a lot of things I did, too, throughout the game to try to bring out Alfred’s mental deterioration and slow descent into insanity. I think all of that came together effectively to tell the story of this cursed bloodline.

That makes me so excited! Exploring more of the Ashfords is something I was praying for, and I am glad they are using the opportunity.

I'd like to know when we are going to get the first bit of info and screenshots from Resident Evil Portable. If the game is going to be out next year, you'd think we could at least get some news by now.

This entry was rather short. I was getting rather interested and then it just ended. Perhaps the next one will be dedicated to Alexia, then another to Alexander?

We'll see either way.

I saw this game as a second chance to do the things we weren’t able to do in the original game

Sounds interesting, I always thought the story of CV was great even if the gameplay was tired so it's exciting to hear that are putting a lot of effort into this.

On the Trailer - I'm curious as to how the story of RE 2 will progress, I mean, despite UC stating Leon B/Claire A is canon, I'm just not sure that's the way it will play out. I mean Ada got star billing while Sherry was present in the trailer...I wonder if that means Sherry's going to be rather minor compared to Ada.

I think the whole point of this trailer was to reveal Ada. A bit strange, because we already knew she was in it from the Famitsu scans. The PR that got sent out with this trailer said "Who is at the end of this trailer? You'll have to watch to find out!" and naturally I thought it was Wesker or something. I was disappointed, to say the least, when it was a character we already knew about.

They still need to revise her design to make her NOT look like an operative. She is MEANT TO BE UNDERCOVER AFTER ALL!

Actually Ada appeared in the Captivate trailer which showed off the RE2 scenario properly .... same shot of her walking in the underground police carpark and a quick shot of her and Leon in the Lab near the very end of the trailer. I think it's more confirmation of characters they're currently willing to show I guess.

Going by the Umbrella Chronicles info timeline, I think we'll get a release date for the game next month (as UC did in 8/07). Pretty sure Chris and Wesker will be the next characters to be shown, and then Krauser after that.

Oh man I just rambled about this elsewhere.

I love the usage of "play" in the blog especially considering the trailers and shots have shown the game to have fun background and reflections of childlike things, and we all know the Ashford's twisted idea of fun. The chapter name "Game of Oblivion" makes me go ! for the same reason.
