X-Play's Biggest Disappointments of 2009: Resident Evil 5 and Bionic Commando

GOW is a barf inducing game. It looks like Rob Liefeld meets Boris Vallejo. Anyone ranking it above anything Capcom's ever done should be prevented from even accessing the internet.

I think even mechanically RE4 works better than RE5. With the inventory, weapon upgrades (Stocks and scopes), treasure combining, not shitty AI to contend with, and no shitty 2 player gimmicks.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

God of War is a very good game, ushered a very successful franchise and I think it's better than both Resi 5 and Bionic Commando. BC had fun gameplay but I didn't connect with the story at all. What's wrong with that? It's not on "greatest hits" collections or been ported to the PS3 just because Sony felt like it.

I guarantee if he worked onto Resident Evil 5 we'd would of been given a worst story than what we already got. Capcom just used the other writing from what Noboru Sugimura created on the progenitor virus when it was to be used for Resident Evil 4, until Mikami decided to not go forward with Umbrella as the front with the T-Virus. At least Takeuchi and Kawata went with a more story route compared to the previous title (not a bad thing, Resident Evil 4 was great, just not a good Resident Evil for plot). I guess much of the press didn't like having a less experience what its predecessor put on the tables.

Even so, I rank Gears of War above RE5 and BC. Especially Gears 2, that was a fantastic game and I've had a great time with it so far. Gears 2 Horde mode is great fun with friends. I bought Bionic Commando, played it for a bit, haven't picked it back up since; and I've not played RE5 in a fair while either. (It might be interesting to note that I play RE4 on a regular basis still, after 4 years. RE5 lost its major appeal to me in a matter of months).

I play RE5 more than RE4,and now that there is DLC coming in a couple of monthes.im gonna be playing it more.I lost interest in RE4 as soon as I got my copy of RE5 back in march and I still enjoy it.

I'd still enjoy it if I played it, but I don't really get an urge to play it because it was just fun at the time and I don't think it's a game that will stand the test of time. A game shouldn't need DLC to add a replayability factor, RE4 still has replayability for me and it's never had any DLC.

Thing is, Capcom are charging for the sort of RE5 DLC that was included as part of the package in RE4, so people really shouldn't resort to using the DLC as a backup for preaching about the game's longevity.

I'm still playing RE4 regularly to this date...i sorta have to doubt i'll be doing the same with RE5.

I'm glad someone said this because RE 4 story just blowed. The producers of RE 5 did the best they could with the story and tried to close many lose ends. They never promised to answer all of them.

Sounds about right, RE5 was just terrible in terms of gameplay and plot, and these Wii ports are utterly pointless. If you really want to play the GC games on the Wii, just play the original GC versions.

As much as it may have "blowed", it at least mostly left the main story alone, so it's not as if RE5 fucked up BECAUSE of RE4.
