Like I said a few pages back, if people can just get past the "OMG THIS IS NOT REALISTIC" aspect of this and embrace the fact that it's a non-canon spin-off that puts us back in Raccoon City, fighting zombies and just having some co-op fun...this game looks like it can be absolutely awesome. But no. People would rather get hung up on shit like stealth camo.

Just have some fuckin' fun with this, guys. That's what the focus is here. No terrible storyline, no shoddy attempt at old school survival horror -- just fun. Not just fun, fun in Raccoon City, knee-deep in the mythology of Resident Evil. BOW's and zombies. That's it. Chew on it. It tastes good if you let it.

Of course, this game will rely on gameplay more than most others, since it seems to be the focus. I'm excited to see it in action.

Enjoying what I read and seen so far. Thanks to those who supplied the photos and information, much appreciated.

It would have been cool though if they had this game take place after the events of Outbreak (remember the ending to the first game), they could have somehow connected it. But meh, what the hell. Beats crazy villagers with glass bottles and having WWF Kamala attack you with his big man majini double axe handles.

I honestly haven't been this excited since the announcement of RE5. I'm totally nerding out right now. I think the costumes look awesome, and I also think it will be cool playing the other side for once. Bertha looks hawt with those knives. I'm looking forward to playing her.

I've always wanted a game like this. I hope that maybe, just MAYBE we'll get to see some characters we haven't seen in a while. I cringed when I saw Leon and I really have had enough of Jill, but these are only the first few scans. I'd like to be able to see Rebecca and maybe even Carlos. I'll try not to get my hopes up AGAIN although this game looks pretty badass.

Not in the slightest. This could possibly be good.

I'm pretty sure some sort of time limit will be in place, at least for the Story part.
Wether it's shown like in DR or not is something else but the characters you have to kill will be trying to escape and possibly the story will follow RE2 and RE3's unless you decide to change the events.

Snake did it first (perhaps, probably not but meh)

The screens are such a breath of fresh air. Sure, we're going back to Raccoon City, but we're getting away from flaccid characters that have grown stale. I'm so much more excited for this than I am Revelations. Bertha....oh Bertha...I still want you to be fat or bulky like Beltway. And Leon has become one man army and chief of the RPD since Jill became president of Raccoon City. After all....Leon only arrived (on his first day on the force) during the end of the outbreak. In the words of Frank West....FANTASTIC! I just hope we get a few other RPD officers....maybe see what Marvin and Irons are up to.

It's almost like Resident Evil is science fiction?!

I'm also laughing that I actually almost called what each character's specialistion would be, although my French is rusty...

    Spectre - Surveilance and Sniper

Beltway - a joker character who uses explosives.

Vector - Modern day ninja that performs recon while invisible.

Bertha - Sadistic, dominatrix like character whose focus changes depending on her equipment...I think. So I missed Bertha slightly.

Now that the info is out here's my thoughts.

    1. Thank goodness it's not another FPS.

    2. Even though I'm sick to death of going back to Raccoon City the game does look to provide a nice balance of old and new by having over-the-shoulder game play mixed with classic RE enemies. You know, the kind of stuff that was scrapped from RE5.

    3. The designs of the characters look very good. People are quick to say 'Saw' or 'Hostel' but that doesn't bother me any. These designs are diverse enough to separate them from one another and keep a fresh perspective on this title as opposed to rehashing or copying the look of HUNK. At the same time the designs aren't too distant since you can easily group them with Umbrella.

    4. It's good that this is being treated as a separate spin off title because for better or worse this game can stand out more from it. It'll either turn out to be a really good separate game in its own alternate universe or a piece of crap that we can all ignore.

    5. Zombies? Back? Really? Are you sure this isn't a rail shooter? It isn't? AWESOME!

    6. If we can take out characters from the games then I'll dub my play through as "Kill Jill" and make my hit list to include Leon, Ada, Claire and Carlos.

So given the news of a mercs game, a CGI Leon movie, and a prequel to RE5..... I'm surprised to say that this is the only one I'm actually excited for. I've kind of given up on the idea that Capcom knows what to do with survival horror anymore. And this game isn't hiding what type of game it wants to be. A mere four player co-op in a bio-hazard war zone. Sounds like fun. But if Slant Six can step in and share the load then this collaboration might prove to be quite successful. Let's just hope the game play doesn't disappoint.

More and more promising. Hopefully they can make it at least Left 4 Dead level scary and we might have a good game. I'm not holding my breath. But on the other hand, seeing someone high up in Capcom pretty much admit they're being owned by Dead Space in the genre they created and that RE5 got them a lot of flack is...impressive. Capcom has very rarely admitted to being anything other than awesome. They're obiovusly gearing this game for action, not horror, but they may have twigged they need to at least try and make it scary. Even with a team od badasses. You see enough badasses bodies that it should be doable.

Nice to see Mr X will be back and likely kicking everyone's ass too.

Still, is anyone disturbed by the number of Leon images in a game he's not supposed to be starring in?

Holy shit! Those screens look insane, I love the lighting with the streets, and especially the fog off in the distance in scan #8.... Damn, well, day 1 purchase for me!
