Please take this and shove it back up your arse where it belongs. I'd say the same of any dev/publisher doing the same thing. Not my issue if Nintendo do it more often due to being creatively dead.Last edited by Dracarys; 04-22-2013, 11:34 AM.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

Details, details. Its a game and it was made.Originally posted by MarkGrass View PostNo, MegaMan games are not currently being made.
"Cross-Over" is an iOS title, many consider to be a cheap cop-out.
That was al so my point. Capcom doesn't know what to do with the IP. Which is vastly different from what Nintendo does with Zelda. You might not agree with what they do with that IP, but that's another issue.Originally posted by MarkGrass View PostBut yes, CAPCOM does receive flack - especially considering they've cancelled roughly 4 different titles, in the past few years alone.
It doesn't matter if you cared for Sonic. My point was to give examples of series that ARE on life support. Zelda is nowhere near that kind of situation.Originally posted by MarkGrass View Post...and I couldn't care less about Sonic - SEGA bombed that franchise, with the birth (and death) of the Dreamcast.
If you put away your nostalgia glasses, you'll realize that Zelda II sucked. Hope you didn't liked that POS. Not telling you to dislike it either. Just stating the facts.Originally posted by MarkGrass View PostBuddy, I've been playing Zelda since the 1980s - don't tell me what I like and don't like. ;)
By what you're telling me there, you just grew out of your Nintendo-fanboy pants. So these days, you can make up your own mind over what you like or not. Regardless of who makes a game or what's on its box cover. Its part of growing up. Perfectly fine. No need to apologize for it.Originally posted by MarkGrass View PostI'm terribly sorry that my faith in Nintendo isn't as strong as it used to be. I'm not going to buy everything that has "Zelda" or "Nintendo" written on the package, as-is the same with "Resident Evil" and "CAPCOM".
Either way, Nintendo allows you to play demos of their games. You can read reviews. Read USER reviews at amazon. Etc. So you don' have to blindly trust them with their games.
And I don't think any "old" gaming company out there has done things perfectly. To the point where your faith in them is intact.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

Zelda 2 was a great game I think...ya know, if it wasn't called "Zelda 2". Nintendo tried a lot of ideas that didn't quite work out for a Zelda game.
It was more like Mega man...with no mega buster, and no projectile range(until ya get the fire spell) and a bunch of weird, but mostly useful spells.
It was an above average platformer, but as a Zelda game it was...lacking. The story was pretty minimal, even for the time.
And those villagers...damn those villagers.
"You know Bagu? Then I can help you!" Scumbag soldier won't help you try to stop the forces of evil, but will help you if you know his drinking buddy.Last edited by Wrathborne; 04-22-2013, 06:00 PM.

I like Zelda II. Your trying to pass opinion as fact... and I don't care for it.

A game that came out a year later did it all better: Faxanadu (maybe except for the graphics)Originally posted by Wrathborne View PostZelda 2 was a great game I think...ya know, if it wasn't called "Zelda 2". Nintendo tried a lot of ideas that didn't quite work out for a Zelda game.

But even in '88, Super Mario Bros 2 made Zelda II look incredibly archaic. Z-II was disappointing.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

I see a lot of love for the GC Master Quest of Ocarina of Time, but did any of you ever see the 3DS version? With the exclusion of big screen support (unless you've got yourself a fancy unit), the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time is hot sauce.
As for the new 3DS Zelda? If there's one thing Nintendo's always nailed with their Zelda games, it's the dungeon treasures -- especially the surprise ones they don't reveal pre-launch. So if they're showing off the mural painting ability and the hammer (ab)usage already, I can't wait to see what awaits further into the game.
Fail to see how pretty much being the trendsetter for a large share of many of the modern day standards in gaming makes them creatively dead. Heck, even to this day we see people rolling onto whatever they do. I could however pick a lot of things that bothers me about Nintendo and their "ways" with certain things, but their creativity is not one of them (although, sure, they haven't exactly created many new, memorable, and "lasting" characters lately -- but their gameplay innovations always scratches an itch so few others manage to reach.)Originally posted by Dracarys View PostPlease take this and shove it back up your arse where it belongs. Faxanadu's a mess. And that comes from someone who loves Faxanadu. Not exactly Falcom's finest hour. Heck, Battle of Olympus was better than Faxanadu. The only game of the same genre/style that Faxanadu's truly better than is probably Ys 3... Now, of course Zelda II's also a mess... But there are things people really fail at acknowledging Zelda 2 for, and probably the most important and major one is how incredibly responsive the controls in that game is (and how it's pretty much the template for how the controls in the Smash Bros franchise works)Originally posted by Pikminister View PostA game that came out a year later did it all better: Faxanadu (maybe except for the graphics)Last edited by Carnivol; 04-22-2013, 08:39 PM.

I would just like to say the Master Quest is a superior challenge on the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time than on the Gamecube. It's the exact same as the GC version except for improved graphics, easier menu/inventory navigation, and the one thing that makes it a technically more challenging version: Link takes double damage. It's a small thing, but enough to edge it out as the factually harder challenge. The rest is opinion (portability vs. big screen, etc.).

^ There's also a boss rush in OoT3D~ And that's just my favorite game of all time, in portable form with a better framerate and improved graphics (and I'll be honest, the 3D effect is gorgeous with the game). But that's not all the 3DS has to offer! No sir! I could sell you on it faster than you can blink! [/salesman voice]

Seriously, though... there are enough games, now, to warrant my purchase. I think.
I agree.Originally posted by Wrathborne View PostThough I do think its about time Zelda got her own game, I mean hell...shes a Ninja. This would be a nice change from just playing as Link.
Princess Peach got her own title, why not Princess Zelda? Women need stuff, too.
