Ugh, an open mic system. I hate the fact that you HAVE to listen to the inane banter or static of some idiot, as long as the option to mute is easily accessible.
    See you in hell.

Here's a great article by Kotaku on the newly-revealed SOCoD. They hit the nail on the head.
The new SOCOM is like a lot of other sequels these days. It's changed just enough to worry fans of the older games, changed just enough to take a crack at a more popular competitor. SOCOM, meet Call of Duty.

      ...get it? SOCoD?

Sounds like more bitching from people who want to play games with outdated mechanics. Cover system is just being with the times, it isn't copying CoD (which doesn't even have one...).

To be fair, Call of Duty never had a cover system so as far as I'm concerned I think it's a decent and worthwhile addition. Come on, it's a tactical shooter and in my opinion, 'tactical' involves taking cover.

Regenerating health, I agree with as being a poor decision. That's always been a staple of arcade shooters, like CoD.

I'd guess why they keep refering COD is the strong real-life military presence with both series. Technically, Gears would be the correct comparison but I'd guess sci-fi world and enemies don't count.
