Where is the game being canon confirmed? And why is it "sad?" I would rather Rising take place after MGS4 than between the events of MGS2/4, since canon is bound to be fucked if it's a prequel. This also gives Platinum more freedom to do whatever they want. And besides, you're getting a MGS5, which is dedicated for stealth players and traditional MG fans.

Other than that, oh Depeche Mode. Never thought I'd see you in a Metal Gear related trailer.

The game does appear to be canon and I understand if people are mad that Raiden didn't get his happy ending, but it comes with the territory. My favorite, MGS1, had one of the best endings for Solid Snake that I could ask for and by the time I got to play MGS2 I was bummed that Snake never got his happy ending with Meryl and devoted his time to fighting metal gears with Philanthropy.

But the game and story were so much fun that I went along with it. The hardships that these characters go through do not always make for them living normal happy lives. And for Raiden to be in MGS4 (and later Rising) it meant that he couldn't live out his MGS2 ending.

Game looks awesome as fuck. Who honestly cares about the MGS series storyline after MGS4? It's an incomprehensible mess that stopped attempting to be serious after the third game. At least now we can have some actual fun. Just hope they don't attempt to make it another 70% cutscene game.

I guess you do have a point Smiley, still I hate what they are doing to the perfect ending of MGS4 (for me at least).
