I still haven't seen Barry Lyndon. I need to be in a certain "move everything aside" mood for films up to or over three hours. By God I did see Seven Samurai last month and I didn't regret a minute of it. The very basis for ensemble RPGs such as Final Fantasy.

Then why reply to mine? Are you trying to create a moderator paradox by replying to a post that tells you not to post about how you aren't going to post? Because it won't work. Dot upgraded us all the same time he did the forums.

EDIT: No, don't bring it. At least not in this topic please.

So what you're saying is that it has to LOOK good for it to be good? Ok, I've come to terms that you are full on retarded.
Thats all I have to say.
Oh shi.... nem go easy on him haha.

I do find Avatar interesting and yet overrated. I'd note Toy Story movies is way better though haha despite it is more meant for kids but who fuckin cares.

    It's relative.

I had a professor a couple of semesters ago for a class on English and Australian movies (I'm a film studies major). This guy had easily the most difficult class I've ever taken for my program, he's written 15 books on the subject of film, he's essentially the type of person a lot of my college peers would look up to as the epitome of film snobbery.

Now, how does he start the class off? By speaking about how much he enjoys that the industry's moving back to a trend of 3D cinema, with such fine films as Step Up 3D and Piranhas 3D. He then proceeds to trash stuff like Inception (understandable, a lot of stuff in that movie has been done before), the whole of animated filmmaking, and special effects in any form, despite what kind of writing's attached to it.

My point is, though he'd probably be another opponent of Avatar, there's still no accounting for taste. rehunk shouldn't be thrown under the bus for enjoying the film to such a degree (it'll probably pass, as I notice he's prone to hyperbole) and "not getting" stuff like Goodfellas, Bladerunner, or Taxi Driver. I still haven't seen Avatar, and while I doubt I'd find it better than those based on many accounts, I don't see the problem with people enjoying it.

As for insults, fuck those up their asses.

not enough people watched it ?? course when i saw Serenity i was blown away its amazing and i just love that actor Nathan Fillion he always cracks me up.
Basically? Firefly was aired to fail. There's a reason it got a movie to finish the story, albeit it in truncated form. The short version of the story was that Firefly was agreed to by one set of Fox Executives. They were replaced shortly before the show was to air, and the new executives, to make themselves look good, decided to make sure Firefly failed, thus proving how much smarter than there predecessors they were.

So they refused to air the pilot, showed the episodes out of order, changed the time slot regularly and occasionally didn't bother showing it at all. In other words, making sure only die hard fans held on until the end. It still had remarkably good ratings for a show fucked up like that, but they were low enough to make sure it got panned.

nah its not a good movie i knew someone would bring it up but overrated and boring.
thats all i have to say.
...you don't like movies with low action and lots of plot, do you? And, seriously, I strongly recommend you get out of this mind set of, 'It's old, doesn't look good and is therefore crap.' I mean, in ten, twenty years, Avatar is gonna look as good as something my kids drew on the playroom wall - is it gonna be an awful movie then?
