Yeah, it's great how Arthur Lee (RIP) could be flamboyantly psychedelic and dark at the same time. "A House is Not a Motel," "The Red Telephone," etc.Last edited by GuardhouseMusic; 07-29-2009, 09:26 PM.

Love is one of those '60s bands I always try and get people to check out. It makes me so sad that the last couple of generations (mine included) don't really seem to care about anything from the '60s and '70s. Those decades were some of the most creatively adventurous and fertile times for pop music, if not THE most. So many amazing groups and artists emerged from that era!

I like Pac's early work too mostly because it was more politically driven but there isn't even enough of my favorite songs on the albums, Trapped is my favorite from 2pacalypse Now.Originally posted by Cloud Strife View PostYeah hiphop all the way!
Thug Life - Tupac Shakur w/Outlawz
Notorious - Notorious BIG aka Biggie Smalls w/ Bad Boys
You got Serve - DMX
2pacolypse - Tupac Shakur
Gangsta Nation - IceCube
Road Gangstaz - Run DMC
Bringin Pain - Lil Wayne
G-Unit Soldier - 50 cent w/ G-Unit
Faces of Death - EA Ski
White Thug - EMINEM aka Slim Shady
But for love of god wtf is Lil Wayne doing on a list next to PAC, BIG, Run DMC and WC he one of the reasons Rap / Hip-Hop sucks donkey dick these days.Last edited by kevstah2004; 07-30-2009, 12:19 AM.If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

That's the way it was for me too. My parents were huge Elvis fans and they were always watching movie musicals..I still remember the words to some songs from The Music ManOriginally posted by GuardhouseMusic View PostI love Revolver and so much of their songs. I listened to 'em as a kid and watched Help too many times. I grew up in a music (pop or otherwise) loving household, so it'll be interesting to see how it influences me.

I wish they listened to Elvis. I don't think they had much of an opinion of him (though my dad didn't prefer white artists). I think I may have to take matters into my own hands at some point regarding early rock 'n roll, 50s stuff. Musicals just happened to me a bunch of times (well easy when you live near Broadway for Christ's sake). The Producers for instance, and my entire 6th grade year was littered w/ plays and musicals.

There's some truly amazing '50s stuff, man.
Also, I'm really happy to see so many music geeks here!
[EDIT] Oh yeah, are any of you planning on getting the Beatles remasters in September?Last edited by Dan Corson; 07-30-2009, 12:57 AM.

Is it the whole back catalogue? I notice that the CD's have minor errors corrected on them like the false starts and have some oversamples covering up things like out of key vocal parts that were on the LP's and 8-tracks, it would be interesting to see what they do with em this time.Originally posted by Dan Corson View PostThere's some truly amazing '50s stuff, man.

DualDisc remasters FTW they normally turn up the volume of ad-libs and background instruments to make them more apparent.Last edited by kevstah2004; 07-30-2009, 01:41 AM.If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.
