With their top sales chart updated as of the end of last year, I think things aren't going to change at all. RE5, and "the failure" of RE6 are in top 3 Capcom best sellings of all time while the "amazing Revelations" (on the same, and even more, platforms, didn't reach 1.5 million yet.

Doubtful, Capcoms compromise is that Revelations is the survival horror part of the series.

I think we all know what to expect from RE7, a slightly darker action fest than the previous game. Most likely with returning classic characters people don't want to see turned into wanky cliches, even though thats whats going to happen.

When the timeline of a series causes so much friction amongst its hardcore fans then think about how much goes over everyone elses' heads.

This just reinforces, for me, the need for the series to cut out dead way and refocus on a team of characters stuck in a difficult situation together. That's far more engaging that counting the number of T-Virus strains in the world around them.

Revelations 2 is already a failure to me, the writers are out of originality and decided to repeat the whole "The right to be a God is now mine!" bullshit.
I would have more empathy with the idea if it weren't Alex, but it seems CAPCOM will just throw whatever crap that has the name "Wesker" on the story to keep it going and appeasing the fanboys.

Who knows, maybe RE7 will have Wesker's mom, who came back for revenge.

So you're basing it on English files that are notorious for making up half their content, despite having not actually seen Alex Wesker yet? Are you also aware that "The right to become a god" line doesn't exist in BIO5's Japanese script, meaning it was pulled out of the translator's ass in REV2 just like most of the English dialogue?
