Anyone else really love how the game keeps track of your stats?

i like my privacy. why should i have to be monitored daily for every little thing i do. this isn't real life, its a damn video game.Originally posted by LVL100 Merchant View PostI don't understand how that impedes freedom in anyway.

Video games already monitor everything you do, it's just that some, like GTA and RE5, have records so you can see them yourself. Tracking the player's movement, progress and actions are a huge part of how video games are coded through triggering events, cut-scenes, loading screens, entering different areas, spawning baddies, altering the dynamic difficulty (if the game has it) or AI reactions of allies/enemies. I can't even imagine what a game would be like if it didn't track and record everything you did.Originally posted by Branden_Lucero View Posti like my privacy. why should i have to be monitored daily for every little thing i do. this isn't real life, its a damn video game.

Now if it could track how many times I say "GET THE FUCK AWAY FROM THE VOLLEY OF MAJINIGUN FIRE SHEVA! NOW!!! NOW!!!! God dammit this fucking AI" then I think Branden would have a good reason to be worried.Originally posted by LVL100 Merchant View PostVideo games already monitor everything you do, it's just that some, like GTA and RE5, have records so you can see them yourself. Either way I like this feature, though I don't know how much I'll be referring to it.Last edited by GuardhouseMusic; 05-03-2009, 09:21 AM.

This is the first stat tracking post that i could find to post on, didn't think it was own-thread-worthy...
But is there a way to check out people on your friendslist's in-game stats?Yes. Exactly. It is a video game.Originally posted by Branden_Lucero View Postthis isn't real life, its a damn video game.
If you liked your privacy, and you think a video game's stat tracking impedes that, then surely your presence on this forum alone would contradict that, what with every post you make only lessening your privacy even further?Last edited by Stu; 05-31-2009, 09:58 AM.
