Not once did I use the word lazy. Bahaha. The writing doesn't have to be lazy for the story to be contradictory or filled with holes and tacked on explanations that should never have existed (Smiley already explained this part). Or are you trying to say that it's perfect? I think you have some preconception that I have to like everything about someone or something to actually like them. I'm naturally critical, but that doesn't affect how I enjoy something or respect someone. I like MGS4 as a game, not for its story. I like some aspects of BIOHAZARD. I dislike others, but cover them all. Maybe because I run a website about it? I like Roman Polanski's movies. I find his sexual assault of a minor deplorable.

It may not be my place to say it but oh man no more arguing guys. Everytime there in a big argument on here it ends up derailing the thread. The thread gets degraded and people wonder off. Also about the limiter coat I remember the Jap version of Outbreak File 2 mentioning it in the Gallery section. Darkside Chronicles mentions it as well I believe (though not 100% sure on it).

He said he did not, and this is further evidenced by his proposed leaving the series repeatedly (which isn't a joke, not sure where you got that idea, he was very serious when he said it with MGS2 and MGS3, he only turned it into a joke when he realized he wasn't going to get out of MGS4).

Obviously that would account for during development as well (or... are you saying it was retconned in development, or some nonsense?), but a statement from the creators was never necessary or promised.
