Not really. This time, we know exactly what we're getting and exactly what to expect. Two quick scenarios and a bunch of new Mercs skins. That's it. Nothing more.

So you know exactly how both Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape are going to play out and exactly what kind of information, if any, will be revealed in said scenarios?

        Okay, sure.

It's pretty much guaranteed that many of the same people who are getting excited for this will come back after having actually played the scenarios and declare "Crapcom" has failed them once again. It happened with Resident Evil 5, it happened with Darkside Chronicles (we also pretty much knew exactly what we were getting with those two titles, too, considering Capcom basically gave away the entire games before they were even released), and it will no doubt happen with LiN and DE, as well. I would honestly be surprised if it didn't.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but I'm not betting on it.

I'm not expecting anything good or anything storyline-wise out of the scenarios, so the only thing that can happen is me getting pleasantly surprised if they turn out to be better than plain DLC filler. If it's plain old crap, nothing special, like I expect it to be, then I will not feel any disappointment.

As to how many others will react, though, you're probably right.

            • I could really care less about the scenario stories, I'm just thrilled to be in a mansion again(That's a replica of the remake version). From the camera angle in the dining room to the one in the 2nd floor hallway...Ah, the memories. Of course it's always fun to play as the big red machine again, finally Barry

              • I'm happy about the inclusion of Rebecca and Barry, both characters which I like.

                • So THAT'S how they're going to get me to play RE5 again!

                  • Oh ho ho! How clever! It's based on the "Sonic Cycle," but you put "Resident Evil" in there. I see what you did. What an M. Night Shyamalan twist!

                    Okay, sure.
Glad you agree. These are two 1-2 hour episodes filling in a gap to a story which had a specific beginning and a specific end when it was released almost 365 days ago. Not to mention, with the footage shown thus far (especially in the RE5 Gold Edition trailer) and the basic summaries of each episode on the internet, yes, we do know how they're going to play out. It helps too when the 5 achievements/trophies for each episode were accidentally released on the PSN at the end of last year.

But hey, let's consult your additional statement to understand why we already know all this info:

we also pretty much knew exactly what we were getting with those two titles, too, considering Capcom basically gave away the entire games before they were even released
                    Contradict your own argument much?

As for your *risky* bet that people will bitch and moan about the DLC...they've already been doing that. We've had the Jill fans crying over her not getting an additional 3 costumes, and the usual waffling complainers bitching about everything (especially though Excella's inclusion in Mercs). Some went so far as to say the DLC sucked already and they wouldn't purchase it.

Then BAM!, the official word came that Barry and Rebecca were to be in Mercs, and suddenly everyone's pants had been shit in. RE5 DLC is hot, hot HOT! The wafflers became excited again, and the mood is set to overdrive.

Either way, some people will like it, and some people won't. RE fans are as fickle as every other fanbase.

                            • ^ Her melee attacks are absolutely ridiculous. Those combined with her voice actor, and she might as well be 12 years old.

That being said, I'll still have fun playing with her and letting her get killed. I can't wait to hear the new characters' death screams.
