    Seems like the Japanese site has officially opened. Featuring gameplay system descriptions and the usual stuff.

    It amongst others features a new trailer with nearly 2 minutes of previously unseen stuff;

    Heh. That's the same trailer that was released all the way back when they re-announced the game a couple of months ago (after two years of radio silence) (Just that the copy on gametrailers doesn't have the accidental PS3 buttons )

    Anyway, screw the graphics! Also, darn, just noticed that I only left trailer links to it in the newspost I mentioned it in. (Go YouTube "Rainy Woods Trailer" for the TGS 2007 trailer, pre-cancellation/hiatus)

    Oh! Latest twitter update from Agent_York takes us to a twitpic upload for;

    Debut Trailer

    For a 2010 game it doesn't look too good.

    OMFG. RAINY WOODS.
    I remember reading this ages ago and was like <insert awesome face>.
    Deadly Premonition...well, if it comes out on the PS3 in Hong Kong, its importing time. <3

    The general impression I've got of the game's structure is that it kinda works like Majora's Mask and Dead Rising (open world, events triggered at specific times of the day, etc...)

    [edit]
    Yeah. That box-art's real. It's what's being used on Amazon.co.jp at the moment. Might not be final, but going by typical Japanese box-art... I'd say it's probably likely to be final.

    That boxart is real? Looks like piss poor fan art!

    Is this game open ended or is the structure scenario based, not having the option to explore the world that Deadly Premonition is set?

    Guess it's Japan only (the PS3 version), because of the low launch price for the US release (JP 360/PS3 release is full price, while US 360 is budget). Launching a game as a budget PS3 title... I don't think you'll see that happen anytime soon...

    Not sure who's in charge of the game's English assets, though (and what the localization deals are), so it's a bit too soon to say whether or not the PS3 version will have more than just English audio.

    Strange name, and a PS3 release i see, thought that got canceled. Maybe its just Japan only, the PS3 seems to be a lot more popular there than the 360.

    LOVED D2, i notice a slight similarity but not that much, D2 was in a league of its own.

    This game seems to be a bit similar in nature to Warp's D2 on the Dreamcast. Does anyone remember that game?

    It had one of the most bizarre and unsettling atmospheres I can recall in the horror genre, and was peppered with moments of uncharacteristic beauty.

    Reception was pretty mixed, but I found it to be a nice departure from what one typically expects from survival horror.
