I hope Barry's an Easter Egg assist character who can only be used when Chris, Wesker and Jill are on the same team. Tap the assist button and the burly beard pops in from off-screen, lugging a giant handcannon, who then screams "I HAVE THIS!!!!" and fires it at the other team.

Anything less than this will be a failure on Capcom's part.
