I was a bit hesistant about buying this, but am seriously glad I did. I sat up last night with a friend and probably played six straight hours. We both suck, so it's way better than playing against anyone online where it would be instant death for me.

I haven't really settled on a team yet, but Wesker, Dante, and Deadpool seem to be the characters I go with the most. I notice what I seem to go for is entirely speed; I can't really even use Chris because he's just too slow moving for me.

I did play against a few online people, and one thing that I simply cannot stand is someone who uses the same move, over...And over...AND OVER! I played against a Dr. Doom who endlessly used 'Molecular Shield.' Is this really any fun in beating another player? I hate those who want those cheap-shot victories.

I really had high hopes for Phoenix too, but I find her defenses to be way too low. It was like two hits from some of the stronger characters killed her. Meh.

Definitely fun and addictive likes its predecessor!

Jill DLC gameplay in RE5, looks somewhat of a weak/speed character and plays nothing like her MVC2 version, seems to have the Villain persona similar to RE5 also.

    ___________

Settled on a team of X-23, Spiderman and Wolverine for now, although Swap out Wolverine for Phoenix when needbe.

Sadly Sentinel is completely OP and Woops me everytime I play against him though.

I've got to agree the game is great, and a true sequel to the Marvel vs Capcom series in the highest regard. I'm still trying to decide on my third party member but I got Dante and Spencer on a firm hold. I still need to find that right person for me. Offline mode is great. But before I really invest into the game further, I'm waiting for next week when I get paid (already £500 out of my 1,600 salrary is going to go straight away out of my acount ) before I purchase my fighting stick. Game doesn't feel right otherwise. It'll be a great investment though, with those countless hours spent online/offline with friends <3

Yea, that's the vibe I got from researching about the Hori and the TE sticks. It wasn't an easy choice to decide because I really couldn't find any real negative comments about them, except for some very slight ones with the TE, so I just said to hell with it and bought the Hori. Hey, it's Japanese made--it must be good! But yeah, it seemed like a virtual tie between the two.

That's kinda weird, since I've had no issues except tonight with Jill's Boob(simply because he was suffering bad weather and for some reason that always screws with his connection). My online play experience has been pretty silky smooth actually. Honestly, it's probably the best I've ever seen for any online fighting game. True, the ranked matches, as noted above are apparently causing a ton of issues(haven't tried them myself) for whatever cheap ass reasons Capcom has. But overall, it's extremely hard to tell the difference in an actual match between that and an actual local game(except when it's actually lagging of course).

But in general, I gotta say I really, really love this game. You know it's so totally fun when you've spent up to 9-10 hours in offline mode just simply in the training and missions(no arcade mode for me yet). It's very cool to try to do combos and try to be creative with the chemistry between each of your teams members. My team of Dante, Ryu, and Jean Grey go pretty well together. I decided to swap out Wesker for the time being(I'll get back to him later). Jean Grey was technically going to be my lead until I realized how easily she takes damage. A skilled player could probably take Jean out in 5-10 seconds in the right situation, but she can do loads of damage if you know how to use her just right.

Dante's probably my favorite fighter so far due to his absolute diversity of moveset and range. He's basically the jack of all trades in the game. He can adapt to pretty much any situation. And last but not least good ole Ryu, who, can drain your opponents health bar extremely quick in a combo air juggle combination.

*Sigh* So much to do, so much to learn.

Playing Arcade on Very Hard right now, every time I get into a win streak and a groove with one of my teams, I run into someone like Dante or Trish who proceed to mercilessly fuck my asshole with their cheesy-ass combos. And just now I got all the way up to the 5th stage only to run into a team with Phoenix who always fucking morphs into Dark Phoenix right at the end of the match when I'm about to win. Frustrating as fuck.

Since the game officially released I cannot even find ranked opponents, Capcom not got enough ranked servers. Before the release game was fine.

Player matches and lobbies work fine.

PS3 version is so laggy for me and others that it's not even worth playing online unless you want to shit your pants purely out of frustration. I was with you on Spider-Man, though...I've tried using him and I just can't. His moveset doesn't suit me very well.

Figured Spider-Man out now, not come across many Storm users online, but frankly the Online mode is pretty pants so will do without for now unless anyone here is on the PS3 version.

Storm Ice Storm hyper is rediculous, it is full screen and even blocking it does damage like some hypers do when they connect...

I see a Storm in a team I just know they gonna save her until built meter then swap in, spam it a few times and swap her out.

edit: The SFIV TE stick is awesome.

I have the MadCatz Fighting Stick TE for 360 and PS3, have to say its the best Stick i've ever used *and beats most in the London Arcades also.*

Got this game today, taken a keen liking to X-23 however pretty shocked at how awful my Spider-Man usage has become, used to be a combo master with him on MvC2.

So far using X-23 to rake up combo gauge, Ryu as a backup and Phoenix as my last character to rush with Dark Phoenix on X-Factor mode if im close to death.

So I decided to pluck down $130 bucks on a Hori Real Arcade Pro 3 SA from Amazon(apparently the retail price is $160)

From what I read, it's the best stick out there besides their higher end model, and some pro fighters like the Street Fighter 4 Tournament Edition from MadCatz--but I don't trust a MadCatz manufactured product--even if the TE fightstick is supposedly good.

Quite a bit of money to sink into just trying to play MvC3, but quite frankly, memorizing the combos is the easy part compared to having to deal with the PS3's controller input issues. Not to mention my poor thumbs just can't take the abuse. Hopefully this will remedy the issue, or so I hope. In the meantime, off I go to continue practicing with Dante. He's pretty baddass in this game.

I fought two Sentinels today one was garbage but the other spammed his beam and it does a ridiculous amount of damage and unless you have a character that can teleport it's a pain to get close plus I hate the people who spam hyper combos the chip damage is too much

Amaterasu gives me some problems, as she's low to the ground and a number of my attacks seem to go right over her head. I've yet to encounter Sentinel online, though I suspect that will soon change.

Keep away tactic seems pretty crap in this game unless you use a character with mega high damage.

I keep doing pretty well then one time opponent gets near and silly combo damage happens, then time over and I find I lost :/

Wish they would tone down damage online so can be some actual fight.
