It has to start somewhere, and it's happening in Europe, surely in the US as well. If you go well back in time, that was not the case in Europe, where racism and discrimination were rather common. If it can happen in Europe, it can happen in the other parts of the world.

Don't see it happening in Asia either.. or in Africa.. Chinese upper management shooting the miners like vermin! How long before colonization?
Anyways, Saturday night - time to hit the town! ;)

Three years sociology in uni, good god. How about three years living in the real world..
It's unfortunate we have been born into a time where lying and generally being a loser is more respected than being honest.. Though being honest nowadays can be absolutely brutal to others..
Every so often these fads come up in a nation usually due to the effects of liberalism (aka living your life to the "max"), multiculturalism and homosexuality are often portrayed as some sort of new age philosophy. They're both very old and will exist just like the people who serve you coffee at starbucks, they're not going to take over the world. Don't take them too seriously!

Spencer, if my wife sees your posts, run. Run like a whipped bitch. She will find you and then she will end you for trying to claim white males have a signficant issue in todays society. She did three years of sociology at Uni, and knows. Oh she knows.

We're not safe, by any stretch. I just don't think they've got that much more to put into there little crusade. And now sod's law will proove me horribly wrong and a Space Shuttle will land on my house.

Some quote I read once, "If God didn't like gays, why does he keep making them?"
But seriously, from a sociopolitical standpoint you're fucked. As a white, heterosexual male you have no credibility or influence in modern society. That's it, lay down. Go and lay down.

Just need to add this in response to Wrathborne -
It always makes me laugh when people assume to know the way nature and evolution/natural selection works. People are born gay/straight, it's not someone simply saying "I fancy being with a man today". And it isn't just humans that can be gay, animals can too who have a much smaller mental capacity than us, so nature obviously has its uses for homosexuality. Just because it doesn't end up with a baby doesn't mean it's unnatural, nor the fact the Bible says its unnatural. It's basic science. If it didn't benefit us in some way, it would have died out by natural selection. It hasn't.
Also, the argument that something in the minority is unnatural is ridiculous so not even going there. Where I live, white people are in the minority so OMG, unnatural!
Homosexuality is decided at a biological level, not a conscious one. There is a lot of research going into whether there is a "gay gene" or if it's down to something else. They even injected a rat with a lot of a certain chemical, can't remember what (either oestrogen or serotonin or something), and it started to mount other rats. When it wore off, it went back to females. Truth is, natural selection has left gays in the world for a reason and now science is trying to work out what makes someone gay. Is it a gay gene? My dad's gay, I'm not, but it may explain my fag hag-ism.
Dunno what gay people you know but I know a lot and only one of them is an attention seeker. I know a lot more straight people who are. Generalising a whole group of people like that makes you seem very ignorant and small minded.Last edited by Alexia_Ashford; 05-07-2011, 02:27 AM.

I'm not too worried about Pakistan. They'd be idiots to go, 'You violated our bodies so our self addmtitedly corrupt officials couldn't warn the guy we promised to help you find, and we certainly don't want the millions of dollars you pour in to keep our economy affloat anymore.' This is saber rattling to appease there own people. the ones who are actually upset over the border violation and the ones who were supporting Bin Laden. They'd be mad to break off ties.
Still, if they don't want that aid Britain will take it. We're loosing enough money propping up the EU right now...
Also, I don't think Osama's death is going to have a huge impact. It'll step up the focus of some terrorists cells but, let's face it - to these people we're already akin to Nazi pedophiles with AIDS. Killing off there leader isn't going to change that. Sparing Bin Laden wouldn't have changed it either. Breaking into the compound and handing the man a box of milk chocolate and a single rose would still be met with idiots rigging themselves with C4.
At least this way the guy with the smarts to pull this stuff off has those smarts spread across the wall instead. I have no idea if he was still plotting or planning these days, but he isn't going to plot or plan anything else. And that's not a bad thing.

^ we've been at peace quite actually some time on our soil there hasn't been a major attack since 9/11 on the contrary I think the death of bin Laden will impact the peace here in the US
And with Pakistan: I'd hope this situation doesn't ruin already strained relations with them I know there are trust issues but if the situation got to the point where we become enemies I fear for the worst

I don't know where you get your "facts", but they seem to be more opinion-based as opposed to being factual.

On topic (Osama Bin Laden):
The world should celebrate the death of this madman. Celebration of the defeat of a tyrant has absolutely nothing to do with politics, religion, cultural differences, and so on, rather, it has everything to do with basic, global human rights.
Politics, religion, etc. aside, this guy was involved in countless plots of terrorism, across the globe, killing thousands in the process. He wasn't just a threat to the United States; he was a threat to humanity, and like those who came before him, Osama clearly needed to be stopped.
That said, I was plenty-happy to watch President Obama officially announce, live, that Bin Laden had finally been stopped. That was suddenly interrupted when I realized that it could lead to even-more extremist attacks across the world, declaring Osama Bin Laden to be their "martyr". And then, the fact he was hiding in Pakistan.
I'm sure there's still a lot of information and intelligence that needs to be gathered, assembled and released, but only time will tell what happens next. Let us hope for peace, even, if only for a little while.
